In this video, Pete Hegseth introduces the men whom he calls the heroes that America needs. Hegseth organized Vets for Freedom as a means to counter the media apathy and antipathy he encountered when he returned to America after his hitch in Iraq. Hegseth speaks passionately about the need for people to listen to the men who have actually fought this war, especially in the differences they have seen in the country between 2004-5 and 2007-8.

Hegseth also noted later in the evening that the VFF will continue its ride for the next two weeks. They will arrive in Washington DC at the same time when General David Petraeus appears to give his next report to Congress. Hegseth and the rest of the VFF team will be meeting with members of Congress to urge them to support the mission in Iraq.
