If only those Somali gang members had grown up in the fine, peaceful, and oh-so-safe Somalia, they wouldn't have grown up to be violent gang members shooting up high school football games.
Yeah, let's go with that. The AWFLs will eat it up. It's all OUR fault because we aren't good enough for the fine, upstanding, hardworking, never complaining Somali population who we mistreat so badly.
Somali leaders cite American upbringing, gun violence and overworked parents amid gang shootings "This is not a Somali community [issue] … This is a gun violence issue," one speaker said. Another speaker, Asad Aliweyd, said: “This is not simply a Somali problem. It’s a youth violence and gun violence problem and we must address it together." Aliweyd is the executive director of a nonprofit that was ordered to pay back $1.1 million to the state for “fraudulent claims,” according to reports. He has not been charged with any crime.

While many people point to the rather unflattering data point that the average IQ in Somalia is 68, there's plenty of evidence that Somalians in America are at the very least pretty cunning.
They manage to run massive Medicaid scams without much punishment and are winning elections at a rate far out of proportion to their population. They have our politicians wrapped around their fingers, and their spokesmen, often accused fraudsters themselves, can look you in the eye and tell you that all the problems in the world are YOUR fault.
"Minnesota teacher" says Somalis work too hard in America and that's why the "youth" commit gang shootings No, this is not AI or a far-right skit https://t.co/ghU2aiQMai

Of course, much of that success has less to do with intelligence or even cunning than the sheer gutlessness of people who know they are being scammed but who are afraid to say anything about it, or who are fine with the scamming as long as they get a cut of the booty or votes to stay in power.

🚨 BREAKING: The DOJ and FBI have THWARTED a planned TERRORIST ATTACK by a Somali at the Mall of America in Minnesota
Sheikhdoon Abdullahi Mohamud, 18, said he planned to kiII 30 to 60 NON-MUSLIMS in the ISIS-inspired attacked

Whatever the reason, Somalis in Minnesota are doing just fine, if by fine you mean living the kind of life they prefer. They have an immunity to the social consequences of their actions that is usually reserved for ruling gangs in third-world countries.
As Somali gang violence erupts across the Twin Cities, Somali community leaders gathered Wednesday to condemn the shootings — but also to push back against criticism of their community.
One blamed the gang members’ American upbringing. Another suggested Somali parents were working so hard they weren’t paying enough attention to their children. Others pointed to gun violence, media bias and politics.
The Oct. 7 press conference in Eden Prairie brought together Somali community leaders, parents and religious representatives following several days of gang-related shootings across the Twin Cities.
While speakers acknowledged that Somali youth were involved, several rejected the notion that the violence should be characterized as a Somali community problem.
Asad Aliweyd, an Eden Prairie resident and father of eight, acknowledged that Somali American youth were involved in the violence and said those responsible must be held accountable.
But when it came to explaining the violence, Aliweyd’s message was clear: These young men may be Somali, but they are also products of American society.
“We recognize that Somali American youth were involved, and those responsible must be held accountable,” Aliweyd said. “But those are also American youth, born and raised all here, educated here, and grew up in our communities.”
“This is not simply a Somali problem. It’s a youth violence and gun violence problem and we must address it together. The actions of a few should never define the entire community,” he continued.
Aliweyd is the executive director of a nonprofit that was ordered to pay back $1.1 million to the state for “fraudulent claims,” according to KARE 11. He has not been charged with any crime.
Father of eight. Joy. Just what we need. Eight more doctors, physicists, and medical researchers who will surely cure cancer once they achieve the social justice they deserve.
Somali leader blames American culture and education for the Somali violence problem consuming Minnesota It takes real talent to be this shameless https://t.co/F81sc4Emk7

At least they aren't on welfare. Instead, they are apparently living off the proceeds of welfare fraud, meaning they live in a nice house in Eden Prairie and their father has enough time to lecture us about gun violence, as his kids' friends shoot up the place.
Nadia Mohamed, the Democrat mayor of St. Louis Park, MN, wants you to STOP criticizing the Somali gangs for shooting people. Her solution? She wants to BAN guns instead. You can't make this sh*t up. https://t.co/cl3YJCAr36

I was particularly persuaded by the claim that shooting up the place violates Islamic values; nothing like this would have happened if they had been raised in the paradise of Somalia, where nothing bad ever happens because they are all good, hardworking Muslims raised with the right values.
Fardousa Yossuf, a Somali mother and teacher, expressed disbelief that children raised with Islamic values could become involved in gun violence.
“We never thought that our children, we have been raising them, and taking them to the Madrasa, which is to teach the Islamic values, that they will … get guns,” Yossuf said.
Yossuf offered another explanation for why some Somali youth are turning to gangs and guns: Their parents are working too hard to pay enough attention to them.
“We came to America … and so much expecting from us,” she said. “Sometimes I feel, in our community, we had too much, we worked very hard, and we really did not give enough attention to our kids.”
“I do believe that, because we’re always told we have to work hard, we have to do this,” she continued.
But Yossuf’s explanation that Somali parents are simply working too hard to keep tabs on their children comes alongside another striking reality: high rates of government assistance among Minnesota’s Somali immigrant households.
Yep, only 80 percent of Somali households get public assistance. It's hard to say which of the other 20 percent aren't living high off the hog because of welfare fraud.
Americans haven't exactly been indifferent to the welfare of Somalis. Many Americans died trying to keep Somalis from starving back in the 90s, and the thanks we got were not the ones we hoped for.
And when that didn't work out so well, we opened our doors wide to welcome the refugees in, and what we are getting now is massive fraud, lectures about diversity, colonialism, and our corrupt culture. And a massive new generation that, if the statistics are correct, will drag on our economy and civilization even more than their parents.

Rest assured, the Somalis, through their fraudster spokesman, are not the problem. You and I are, as are the people reporting on the gang violence.
Aliweyd told journalists it was their responsibility to report fairly and urged them to help “protect the [Somali] community, because we are immigrants who are new, we want to be part of the fabric of Minnesota.”
The press conference followed a string of shootings that have heightened concerns about Somali gang activity across the Twin Cities, with gunfire erupting outside a high school football game, on church grounds and in residential neighborhoods.
At least they have coordinated their talking points with the Democrats who depend on them for their winning vote margin. Despite being a blue state in statewide elections, Minnesota is a purple state in most respects, which is why Democrats win statewide races but do far worse in legislative elections. Without the Somali vote concentrated in the urban areas, the Democrats would likely lose many statewide elections.
Imam Yusuf Abdulle says "there is no Somali gang." "These kids are Americans. It's a Minnesota problem. It is an American problem. It is not a Somali problem." The gaslighting levels on this have officially gone stratospheric. https://t.co/bnGpq1deQs

In that way, Somalis ARE a key part of the political fabric of our state, and the only prices we have to pay are higher taxes, welfare fraud, and a few bullet holes where they don't belong.
