Jimmy Kimmel's 'Near Death' Experience

The profoundly stupid and unfunny Jimmy Kimmel was just given the "Critics' Choice" award (of course).

That's no surprise, of course, since, in the eyes of the left, Kimmel nearly died for the cause of fighting evil MAGA.

Leftists have been comparing Antifa to the French Resistance for a decade, in the strong belief that burning down bodegas in the name of meth addicts and counterfeiters is a strong blow for freedom. So none of us should be shocked that an unfunny comedian who makes about $15 million a year while losing probably four times that much for his network sees himself as a martyr.

Kimmel, you will remember, was pulled off the air for a few days last year after he claimed that Charlie Kirk was killed by MAGA. Now you may think it is a stretch to suggest that a man who shot Kirk because he wanted to stand up for the rights of transgender furries did it for MAGA, but if so, you don't understand the sophisticated thinking of our betters.

Kimmel didn't get pulled off the air because he lied to his audience, although any sane set of executives would have done so out of basic human decency (these are media folks, so no...), but when Kimmel made clear he was going to double down on insulting his audience he was given a time out.

Kimmel now calls this a "near-death" experience.

Think about that. Charlie Kirk had an actual death experience, and Jimmy Kimmel took shots at him and the people mourning him. And when he started taking flak for doing so, he claimed victimhood.

What a scumbag.

The left absolutely erupted over Kimmel's suspension, claiming that the freedom of the Republic depended upon Kimmel's spreading hateful lies. This is the very same group of people who have spent nearly a decade arguing that everybody who disagrees with them should be censored.

Of course, Kimmel found ABC's flirtation with cancelling him, if indeed they considered it, a "near-death" experience because he is part of the "silence is violence" crowd. No doubt, in his eyes, losing his $15 million/year job spewing hate is of the same moral weight as Charlie Kirk taking a bullet from one of his viewers.

Kirk deserved it. Kimmel is, on the other hand, fighting Nazis.

Kimmel laughing at the cold-blooded murder of an innocent man is perfectly on brand for today's elite, who see themselves as so far above the concerns of mere mortals and as our true moral leaders.

No doubt Kimmel was serious about comparing his 6-day stint off air as a "near-death" experience. He clearly has the moral imagination of a mollusk and experiences something akin to brain death whenever people are not clapping at his inanities.

Whenever I think of the cultural elite, I am reminded of the fine folks at the top of the social pyramid in The Hunger Games, who truly believe that they are the apex of civilization.

There's no point in trying to convince them of anything. We just have to work around them.
