Haverford College is located west of Philadelphia in the community of the same name. Today, a religion professor at the school named Guangtian Ha was arrested for cyberstalking and antisemitic harassment of one of his co-workers.

A Haverford College professor was arrested Tuesday for allegedly sending about 50 threatening and antisemitic, online messages to a Jewish man.

Guantian Ha, an assistant professor of religion at the college, allegedly used at least four anonymous X accounts to target the man between October 2025 and May. He has been charged in federal court with one count of cyberstalking, which carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison.

From the description of what he did, Ha really was trying to terrorize this family.

In a court filing on Tuesday arguing that Dr. Ha should be detained, federal prosecutors said that he “terrified” a co-worker by posting the victim’s home address, his infant child’s name, a photograph of the family’s mailbox and “countless antisemitic slurs and threats.”...

In one message, according to the filing, Dr. Ha used an anonymous X account to respond to the victim, saying: “Get out of my country. You don’t belong here. The Führer is coming, rats,” Five days later, he wrote: “Remember this. You scums have had it too easy,” prosecutors said. In another message in February, Dr. Ha wrote, according to the prosecutors: “Run. Flee. Leave. Blurring your home on google map and installing a security camera next to your mailbox won’t help.”...

Twice, the victim’s spouse and their three children went to stay with relatives out of fear of being attacked, according to prosecutors.

The victim of this harassment hasn't been named but people who spoke to the NY Times said he is a Jewish faculty member at the same school.

Ha hasn't been fired yet but that seems inevitable at this point. The president of Haverford put out a statement about the arrest.

Earlier today, Professor Guangtian Ha was arrested and charged with online harassment and intimidation. I am deeply distressed by these allegations and want to state in the plainest of terms that any form of harassment or discrimination based on identity is unacceptable, antithetical to our values, and has no place at Haverford.

Professor Ha, who was on sabbatical leave and not teaching this academic year, has been placed on administrative leave and barred from campus while the criminal process moves forward. A representative of the College has been in contact with the individuals targeted by these heinous online attacks, which were antisemitic in nature. I also want to thank the FBI, Haverford Township Police Department, and Campus Safety for aiding in the investigation.

They might wait until the indictment just to keep the union off their backs, but Ha is definitely going to be without employment soon. Haverford had already settled a lawsuit brought by Jewish students. That lawsuit included posts Ha had made on social media.

Ha is apparently a Chinese Muslim who got his Ph.D. at, where else, Columbia University.

Professor Ha graduated from Peking University in Beijing before attending Columbia University for graduate studies.

He has a long history of inflammatory rhetoric targeting Jews, Zionists, and Israel.

“The state of Israel must be dismantled and their society ‘de-Nazified.’ We must attack Zionism on all fronts. Zionism is racism. Anyone who says, ‘What about Hamas?’ can go f*ck themselves.”

Haverford President Wendy Raymond calls his conduct “heinous,” but this isn’t her first rodeo.

After a two-year legal battle, Haverford was forced into a settlement this summer after Jewish students sued them over a hostile campus environment.

Students faced threats not only from pro-Hamas student activists, but from professors and administrators.

When Jewish students approached President Wendy about Professor Ha openly expressing support for terrorism, she told them that “support could be perceived in many ways.”

Under GOP House scrutiny, this genius had to bring note cards to remind her to breathe, sit up straight, and not publicly hate Israel.

It's worth noting that his anonymous accounts used to harass a Jewish professor, were also a bit of a false flag. One account was named "America1stLM." He used that one to send messages like "Jew, get the f*** out of my country." Anyone reading it would assume the antisemitism was coming from a right-wing American.

Hopefully this guy will spend some time in prison and never get another job in academia.
