Reporter Stages Photo to Create Story

Jennifer Bendery reports on Washington politics--Congress and the White House--for the Huffington Post.

She is, of course, a lefty propagandist. That is a requirement for the job of "journalist" these days. So it should come as no surprise that she is a connoisseur of hoaxes. Hoaxes, as The New York Times and The Washington Post found during Trump's first term--can net you a Pulitzer Prize.

But most people are smart enough not to be caught perpetrating the hoaxes that they purport to report on. Not Benderly, though. She not only reported on the hoax; she committed it and provided the evidence for all the world to see as she did so.

Bendery posted this photo purporting to show National Guardsmen at Union Station engaged in the awful oppression of women in Trump's theocratic America. As usual, the meme is rather weak--of all men, Trump is hardly the one to push a theocracy, and The Handmaid's Tale is hardly a good metaphor for America in the 21st century.

But whatever. A feminist's fever dream is not the point. AWFLs think like this and have the perspicacity of a toddler.

What's relevant here is Bendery's hoax. Rather than reporting on an event that she witnessed, she created the event in order to report it to her X followers, calling it "just another day in Trump's militarization of DC."

Nope. It was a hoax. Sure, the National Guardsmen are in Union Station--I seem to recall that Biden deployed the National Guard in DC for months and surrounded the Capitol building with a wall--a perfect metaphor for his reign. But Trump is fighting crime in what was one of the most dangerous capitals in the world.

Even the Mayor of DC, one of the more liberal politicians in the country, recognizes that Trump's anti-crime surge is working.

But Democrats as a whole are committed to criticizing all things Trump, and hence are claiming that crime is hardly a problem to worry about. Crime isn't a problem; the border was secure under Biden, who, in turn, was sharp as a tack.

It's a bizarre take--law enforcement is essentially tyrannical. But then again, we are talking about Democrats, who believe that borders should be open, that gang members are good (non)citizens, and men are women. They find recognizing that our rights precede government "troubling" and akin to Sharia law, not that they oppose Sharia law when it comes to anything else.

“The notion that rights don’t come from laws and don’t come from the government, but come from the Creator — that’s what the Iranian government believes. It’s a theocratic regime that bases its rule on Sharia law and targets Sunnis, Bahá’ís, Jews, Christians and other religious minorities. And they do it because they believe that they understand what natural rights are from their Creator. So the statement that our rights do not come from our laws or our governments is extremely troubling.” @timkaine

In the immoral words of J.D. Vance: "Do you hear yourself?"

If you ever wondered whether all these hoaxes are understood to be so, wonder no longer. The "journalists" are not just in on it, but enthusiastic hoaxers themselves. They collude with the Democrats, push The Narrative™, and their readers are absolutely committed to believing anything and everything they are told.

So it goes. When you no longer believe in an objective reality, this is what you wind up with.
