I debated whether to write about this but decided it was worth the post.
Both Ed and I have written about the Biblical disaster unfolding in North Carolina, Ed on the massive scale, and I on the Biden/Harris indifference to the suffering of people in Red areas of the country.
But, as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words, and Andy Swan has pointed out that the tweet that Kamala Harris put out to express her overwhelming support for the people of Appalachia shows the emptiness of their concern.
It's perfect

Taking notes halfway down a still blank paper and corded headphones not plugged in to the phone. https://t.co/KYX3BeumxQ
Kamala Harris is so concerned that she made a phantom phone call to the FEMA director. Her phone wasn't connected, and the notes she was taking (supposedly) were really a blank sheet of paper. She is pretending to care, just as she pretends to care about the border, the economy, and the real suffering that everyday Americans are feeling under her "leadership."
Reporter: "Have you reached out to President Biden about federal relief efforts?"

President Trump: "No I haven't reached out to him. I think he's sleeping right now, actually."pic.twitter.com/5GpFl9yvAS
As she mimes leadership, President Trump is shipping aid to Georgia, and Governor Ron DeSantis is turning down aid for Florida to recover from the same hurricane and even shipping assets up to North Carolina. He is asking FEMA to concentrate where the need is greatest because he has it covered.
Florida is literally carrying more weight than the federal government

They are running flights, sending personnel and resources to North Carolina. Biden and Kamala are nowhere to be seen, while NC must wait.
Trump is visiting Georgia too. Major GOP show of leadership. https://t.co/F8vhCmKeIN
Biden has been on the beach and Harris is fundraising as North Carolina has been devastated. The sum total of Kamala Harris' concern has been a photo op of her NOT doing anything, but pretending to organize help.
Does this bother anyone else?

700 members of the Tennessee National guard were deployed yesterday to the Middle East!
I know this has been planned, but for mercy sakes, has our US/Tennessee government noticed that Tennessee is in crisis?

In a sense, you could forgive her for keeping her head down. She is so incompetent that she would only get in the way. Responsible adults are taking the place of the federal government. Who would you rather provide help? Ron DeSantis or anyone in the Biden/Harris orbit?
NEW: 8 alleged migrants have been arrested in Eastern, Tennessee for robbing flood victims as local communities try to recover from apocalyptic flooding.

Local Americans are helping their neighbors in need however some migrants are capitalizing on the tragedy.

As people are suffering and dying, private individuals are picking up the slack, where the federal government is failing. It is always the case that when people are in trouble, everybody pitches in. But there is precious little that the feds are doing compared to the massive efforts of people who are already stretched to the limit.
First responders and National Guard doing everything they can but need more lift capability for evacs. How about some helicopters @potus @DeptofDefense https://t.co/X2Uh2QPwTp

Our President and Vice President are focused on sending tax dollars overseas or spreading the money around to illegal immigrants and the nonprofits who "serve" them. The cupboards are bare now, especially for states that vote Republican.
"$2.4 billion aid to Ukraine" vs "No more aid for Hurricane Helene" - 3 days apart pic.twitter.com/zA2CxzNPiG

I am more than a little surprised that North Carolina is getting so little help. It is, after all, a swing state.
I guess the polling isn't so good there. We can be sure it isn't in the areas most hit by Helene. It is, after all, Appalachia, so outside Ashville, the area leans hard Red.

Florida shows that governments when focused, can move mountains in times of trouble. Ron DeSantis knows how to govern, when to help, and when to leave people to exercise their freedom. Florida is a state that works.
Kamala Harris, on the other hand, can't even manage a photo op that doesn't turn into a disaster. At least plug the headphones into the phone and scribble some nonsense onto the blank sheet of paper.
She can't even manage to fake it.
