Kamala Announces 100 Police Officers Endorse Her; Trump Got the Endorsement of All the Rest

I was a bit surprised to see that Kamala Harris announced that 100 police officials were supporting her campaign.

To my mind, it was a pretty weak entry into the endorsement race--sort of like announcing that Bush and Romney interns supported her over Trump. But there it was:

It was hardly persuasive stuff. No prominent names. In the announcement from the Harris campaign they don't even name or quote a single one of them. It was just "100+" law enforcement officials. There are over 700,000 such people in the US. You would think they could find one or two more who would be willing to be quoted in a release.

Now I know why they did this weak preemptive strike:

The Fraternal Order of Police polled their members--you know, the REST of the law enforcement officers in the country--and there was "zero doubt" who they supported, and it wasn't Harris.

No surprise there. Harris has long supported "criminal justice reform" and "reimagining" law enforcement. She even raised millions of dollars to bail out Minnesota rioters who burned down much of my city.

Of course, Kamala has no choice but to rebrand her not-very-tasty dog food list of issues because the formula she was trying to sell in 2019 wasn't tasty even to Democrat dogs. That's why she has yet to get a SINGLE vote from Democrats in a primary election for president.

Her policies are terrible.

Still, it may have been smart of her to release her "endorsement" preemptively. It is just possible that she enticed the national Fraternal Order of Police to release their endorsement now, on a Friday, instead of on a better day in the news cycle.

If so, it was a smart move. Crime is not a strong issue for her, so the best she could hope for is minimizing the benefits to Trump and the losses for her.

It could be accidental that both announcements happened today, or even possible that the Fraternal Order of Police planned to announce the endorsement today despite it being a Friday.

But if not, and Harris drew the FOP out before they wanted then it was a good play for them.
