Arrested for Being 'Openly Jewish?'

"You are quite openly Jewish. This is a pro-Palestinian march. I am not accusing you of anything but I am worried about the reaction to your presence.”

With those words, a London police officer explained to Gideon Falter that if he did not leave the area he would be arrested for threatening the peace.

Arrested for walking near pro-Hamas protesters. By merely existing, he was told, he was a danger to the community.

Mr Falter wasn't in the area to protest, counterprotest, or even watch the Hamas-supporting fanatics. He was out for a walk after dinner and wanted to cross a road.

Why did the Jew cross the road? He couldn't. He was Jewish and therefore a threat to the peace.

London has fallen. It has been falling for a long time, of course. Perhaps I should say it has fallen and it can't get up.

Scotland Yard are allowing no-go zones for Jews in London, a man has claimed, after officers threatened to arrest him for “antagonising” pro-Palestinian marchers.

Gideon Falter, head of the Campaign Against Antisemitism, was wearing a kippah skull cap when he was stopped by officers last Saturday in the Aldwych area while on a walk with friends after attending synagogue.

Mr Falter was walking along carrying a bag containing his prayer shawl when he came across a pro-Palestinian march.

In an exchange that was filmed and uploaded to social media, Mr Falter was told he would not be allowed to cross the road while the march was taking place because as a Jew his presence could create tensions among the marchers.

The police sergeant told him: “You are quite openly Jewish. This is a pro-Palestinian march. I am not accusing you of anything but I am worried about the reaction to your presence.”

In another exchange a short time later he was told if he did not leave the area he would be arrested.

The officer told him: “If you chose to remain here because you are causing a breach of the peace with all of these other people you will be arrested…because your presence here is antagonising a large group of people.”

"Your presence here is antagonising a large group of people."

You exist. Quit doing so, and everything will be fine.

I'm surprised that Mr. Falter wasn't told that it was a matter of public health that the protesters be given free rein to rampage and beat him up. We heard that often enough in 2020.

Of course, public hygiene has been used as an excuse to remove Jews in the past; why not now?

I have no reason to believe the Bobbie was being antisemitic per se; his point, rather, appears to be that the Hamas supporters are so uncivilized that they can't abide the existence of Jews, so of course the Jews should disappear to make them feel better.

This is where we are in the West: embracing the violently insane and allowing them to dictate what is and is not acceptable in our society.

Our mainstream media pumps out anti-Israeli propaganda daily. We keep being fed Hamas-created statistics, tales of "genocide," denials of things that were filmed, and of course the hostages are ignored. Israel keeps being lectured about cease-fires while Hamas refuses to agree to one.

It is the Joos fault, we are told.

Apparently, the problem is that Jews exist. If they only disappeared everything would be fine.

This, it seems, is a crime in London.

“Instead of addressing that threat of anti-Semitic violence, the Met’s policy instead seems to be that law-abiding Jewish Londoners should not be in the parts of London where these marches are taking place. In other words, that they are no-go zones for Jews.

Mr Falter said his issue was not with the individual officers he spoke to but with the Met’s overall policy to the weekly marches.

These days, being the victim of violent threats makes one a criminal, not making the threats. In Brussels, the mayor tried to shut down a conference of conservatives because, he said, Antifa might riot. In London, you are breaching the peace because Pro-Hamas protesters might riot.

This goes beyond the "heckler's veto," which is bad enough. Now the hecklers are given the run of the city--they own the streets and with them, the soul of our cities.

The West keeps threatening to abandon Israel--Western countries are harsher on Israel by far than most Arab countries, which understand that the Palestinians are poisonous to civilization.

Our leaders are failing a moral test--one that we have failed once before.
