Did you see the ridiculous news that the NAACP put out a travel warning for Blacks, warning them to stay away from Florida because it is a hotbed of racism?
You should have. Karen wrote about it Sunday, and if you didn’t read her post you are missing out on some fine writing!
The Republican Party of Florida was so worried for the safety of NAACP Chairman Leon Russel that it offered to pay his moving expenses to some other, safer state.
He lives in Tampa and has for decades.
The CHAIRMAN of the @NAACP lives in Tampa, FLORIDA!
True leadership is being willing to do what you ask others to do… time to step up and MOVE.
If you think our state is so bad, the @FloridaGOP will help with moving costs. https://t.co/fhvaiii9iB pic.twitter.com/5NnhQZyc3P

Some people seem to think that the offer was a stunt, or racist. Yet another example of the GOP’s hostility to black people. Driving a man out of the state!
Yeah, right. Clearly, he doesn’t think the state is so bad, and neither do a bunch of other NAACP Board members who visited the state over the past couple of years–most notably during the COVID pandemic. They could enjoy themselves in, what one board member called, the “great state of Florida.

You may have noticed that a bunch of liberal groups have been providing “travel warnings” about visiting Florida. None of this, I am certain, has anything to do with Governor Ron DeSantis’ tremendous success and popularity with not only Republicans but many Independents. And it certainly could have nothing to do with the upcoming electoral battle in 2024, when DeSantis could easily be on the ballot.
These groups, you see, are nonpartisan nonprofits. They would never engage in political stunts.

The fear among Blacks is so palpable that they are flocking there to start businesses, as are many minorities. Florida ranks #1 or #2 in minority business starts. I suppose starting up a business is one way to express one’s fear of the governor. Most people would assume that people would flee scary places, but the NAACP knows that putting down strong roots and one’s life savings into an entrepreneurial activity is the real way that anxiety is expressed.

AOC was so worried during COVID about the radical and dangerous policies of the governor and of course, the hostility of Florida to Black and Brown people, that she vacationed there on a fact-finding trip. Going maskless, of course, and drinking margaritas. She needed the fortification of a strong drink to get over the clear anxiety she felt being around MAGA types.
The amount of known figures who came down to Florida to escape the tyrannical laws they championed back in their home state was simply staggering. From AOC to Newsom to Walensky, you name it! It would be easier to make a list of those who DIDN'T come down here.
Absolute frauds. https://t.co/v45VtQWqZn

Lots of Democrat activists are similarly worried. Aisha Mills just took her family there for some fun and sun, but the NAACP has reminded her that Florida is becoming a terrorist state.
It was a blast, though.
Democratic activist @AishaCMills: "I just took my family to spring break in Fla. [despite things] getting to the point where Fla. is about to be a terrorist state to many of us here in America. As a lesbian & a black woman, I don’t want to have anything to do with the place" pic.twitter.com/BNkw2jzJik

It is amazing to see how defiant the Black population of Florida is in light of the constant oppression they experience. It must be a result of their history of oppression since by all appearances they seem to be thriving in the state.
The 25,000 Black people out at the Haitian Compas Festival last night most certainly did not get the NAACP’s memo about how dangerous Florida is for Black people! pic.twitter.com/QDKkZP9Nvf

This is what fear of the Terrorist State of Florida breeds: record tourism, record inmigration, record minority business development, and all this celebration.
Clearly, this is a mask of fear. Stunning and Brave!
Here's NAACP board Vice Chair Karen Boykin-Towns enjoying a lovely Florida vacation in April 2021.

Byron Donalds, one of my favorite Congressmen because he is a White Supremacist icon, took issue with the NAACP’s characterization of Florida, proving that White Supremacists can be of any race.
I’ve lived in FL since '96.
I went to college, got married, started a career, raised kids, coached sports & attended church in FL & NEVER had a problem.
I don’t know what NAACP is talking about.
FL is doing a SIGNIFICANTLY better job helping Black people succeed than NY or CA. pic.twitter.com/UCX46S12Id

Donalds is one of the shining stars of the Republican Party because he is smart and articulate. The other day I was raked over the coals for using that term to describe a Black state legislator–a friend of nearly 20 years–because “articulate” is supposedly a dog whistle.
No, it is only a “dog whistle” when Democrats say it, like Joe Biden. Who, last I checked, has been strongly supported by the NAACP and their allies. Donalds IS articulate–outspeaking 95% of politicians in the country.
Sure, he is no Kamala, Biden, or Fetterman, but he is still pretty good.
I encourage the NAACP to focus on the REAL hostility Black people in America face —the hostility of Biden's presidency that has made life much harder for all of us.

Ironically the NAACP doesn’t even use its own name now, because it is considered racist. Until recently it was the “National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.” How ironic that they had to drop their name and memory hole it. NAACP now, literally, stands for nothing, because they deny their own history.
No, I assert they have proven their own racism, referring to our melanin-enhanced brothers and sisters by a demeaning term!
They should put out a warning: don’t give to groups with clearly racist names.
These people are clowns. They don’t even pretend anymore to be a civil rights organization. Florida is thriving. Its education system is ranked #1 in education, #2 in black-owned businesses, and has the most inmigration of any state.
The NAACP used to have a reason to exist besides licking the toes of the Democrats. They stood for something: Civil Rights. They have a glorious past.
Their future? Well, other than taking a lot of vacations in Florida, their leaders have little to look forward to besides being stooges for the Left.
