It's a tale as old as time: conservatives say among the many reasons to uphold the Second Amendment is so that good guys and gals with guns can keep bad guys with guns from doing bad things.
The left responds, much like a trained dolphin at Seaworld responds to the scent of fish, by saying "there's no such thing as a good guy with a gun" (my apologies to trained dolphins for comparing the Center for American Progress with them).
The good guys respond with enough examples to fit out a pretty sold Large Language Model of examples:
And they just keep piling on.
This past week in Traverse City, Michigan, an apparently deranged man stabbed 11 people in a Walmart:
Grand Traverse County Prosecutor Noelle Moeggenberg told reporters that the terrorism charge will be brought due to the fact that investigators believe Gille intended to 'affect the entire community, to put fear in the entire community, and to change how maybe we operate on a daily basis.'
The horrific attack unfolded at the Walmart in Traverse City on Saturday afternoon. Gille allegedly entered the store during a calm shopping afternoon and randomly stabbed the victims with a folding pocket knife, authorities say.
Did I say "apparently deranged"?
Why yes. I did. Shot:
Traverse city Walmart stabbing suspect Bradford James Gille, who is now in custody , published a book where he believes he is Jesus.

No dude, sorry to break it to you. You were just having a psychotic episode. You are definitely not Jesus! pic.twitter.com/ojPg5OGK6w
And chaser.
The Traverse city Stabber was previously arrested for mutilating dead bodies he had dug up from the Petoskey cemetery. His lawyer is trying to get a low bond set so he can be released??? Let's release him in her neighborhood. https://t.co/VYtpIvYd6k pic.twitter.com/lOIolJBWSd

The mass stabbing (what else to call it) in Michigan this past week was stopped by...
...any guesses?
The hero Marine who risked his life to save Walmart shoppers from a deranged knifeman has shared harrowing new details about the 'terror' rampage.
Derrick Perry pulled out a concealed firearm and held knifeman Bradford James Gille at gunpoint until officers arrived at the scene.
The 42-year-old Gille had already stabbed 11 people inside the Michigan Walmart and has now been charged with terrorism and assault with intent to murder.
By all accounts, Mr. Perry did what needed doing:
The part I personally love the most? It was a team effort...
Heroic shoppers forced Gille to drop his weapon after went on a brutal stabbing near the checkout counter of the supermarket.
About five minutes later, the man was surrounded by shoppers in the parking lot, including one who was holding a gun.
During the urgency of the situation, one of the brave men lost his shoes and was walking barefoot as he ordered the knife-wielding man to drop his weapon.
'Get on the ground!' one of the men could be heard shouting.
'Drop the knife! Drop it!' another bellowed.
'Throw the knife that way! Throw it away!' the barefoot man continued to yell.
The group of five or six people kept yelling at Gille 'drop the knife'.
...the kind of thing that pops the bubble of the notion that the average citizen in the street, or in your local Walmart, is a panicky ruminant who is prone to either hiding in panic, or blazing away at innocent bystanders in panic.
In fact, it seems to have provided a salutory example for the locals:

It's a well known, highly studied fact that spree killers generate copycats.
Perhaps being a good guy spawns them, too.
