Coming soon: NYC Mayor Adams demands border wall

New York City Mayor Adams is getting red-pilled on illegal immigration.

It turns out that when the flood of illegal immigrants arrives at your own doorstep it’s no longer a matter of justice, compassion, and loving our neighbors. It’s instead a grave crisis and must be dealt with.

Of course, Adams will never admit that his virtue signaling on illegal immigration was anything but 100% right. He will undoubtedly maintain that open borders are a great idea, but the migrants should have the courtesy of remaining in Red states and not actually making the Blue sanctuary cities and states put their money where their mouth is.

Adams is in Washington DC to beg for more money from the Biden Administration, and he is not a happy camper. Not happy at all.

Mayor Eric Adams raged on Friday that the ongoing surge of migrants into the Big Apple has “destroyed” the city — as he delivered his most impassioned plea yet to the Biden administration for help dealing with the flow of immigrants into the city.

Hizzoner, who earlier this week blasted the White House for turning its back on NYC, sounded the alarm on the multi-billion-dollar cost to the Big Apple budget during a visit to Washington, DC on Friday, where he plans to press the administration for federal aid.

“The city is being destroyed by the migrant crisis,” a distressed Adams said before his scheduled meeting, during a panel discussion hosted by the African American Mayors Association.

It’s hard to work up any sympathy for either Adams or New York City, and it’s impossible not to laugh at the fact that the Biden Administration can’t find a few billion in the couch cushions to help the Mayor out. After all, they are tossing money around as if it were confetti.

Not too long ago all the Blue mayors and governors were screaming “racism” at Republican governors who were dealing with the migrant crisis. Six million or more migrants have flowed across the southern border since Biden became president, and these governors were getting crushed by the weight of the problem.

New York City is cracking under the pressure of 56,000.

Out of 6 million.

And Adams says the city is “destroyed.”

Welcome to the party, pal!

Adams’ showing in DC comes after he ramped up his criticism of the Biden administration refusing to provide additional fiscal relief — even as the Big Apple stares down the barrel of a $4.3 billion crisis that has forced the city to house more than 56,000 migrants in over 100 taxpayer-funded shelters.

As recently as Wednesday, Adams took aim at Biden, as he accused the White House of abandoning the city and triggering “one of the largest humanitarian crises that this city has ever experienced.”

“The national government has turned its back on New York City,” Adams said. “Every service in this city is going to be impacted by the asylum seeker crisis.”

Boo hoo.

After years of hurling accusations of racism at Republicans and proudly inviting migrants to New York City, Adams is now claiming that New York City is groaning under the weight of having to accept 0.01% of the migrants who Biden has invited into our country.

At least Adams hasn’t taken the Portland path and just given up, allowing his city to implode rather than face the problem head-on. But if he had a millionth of the integrity he should, he would visit El Paso and stand with Governor Abbot at the border and demand that it be closed.

But no, his solution is to demand some of that sweet federal money Biden is tossing around. Pure Democrat thinking. Create a problem and demand money to fix it, diverting a lot to your buddies to go to vegan restaurants or something.

I am convinced that part of Biden’s plan is to punish the Republican border states for being…Republican. Now that the migrants are showing up in Democrat areas, even in such small numbers, a backlash is developing.

Not that the Democrats in those areas will learn their lesson.

They will vote Democrat until they die.
