To cleanse the palate, a first look at the story of a young man caught up in a time-unlimited, scope-unlimited military action who chooses to get very, very kinetic with the enemy. If you’re worried there’ll be too much patriotism or too many celebrations of American exceptionalism in the script, rest easy, my friends: The director promised last year that the new Cap isn’t a “sort of jingoistic American flag-waver… He’s just a good person.” And of course he fights as part of a multinational coalition, which is proof enough of how virtuous he is. Just don’t tell his lawyers back home, who are busily looking for ways to screw that coalition over by finding loopholes in their treaties.
Exit question: Is that really the same actor in the pre-buff and post-buff scenes? Good lord.
