Sunday morning talking heads

Is Mick Mulvaney the second-most influential man in the federal government? A week ago I would have scoffed. This week, after learning that he’s almost single-handedly responsible for Trump’s baffling interest in having a big health-care fight before the election, I’m sold. Mulvaney will be on “This Week” and “State of the Union” to explain why he thinks it’s a good idea to blow up ObamaCare at a moment when the left is pushing hard for single-payer and the right is pushing … nothing. He’ll also dunk on Democrats for having lost their big wager on Bob Mueller, of course, and hopefully will be asked why Trump keeps sandbagging his own top advisors with surprise announcements.

Is Mulvaney still the “acting” chief of staff, by the way, or has he now assumed the role permanently? Expect him to be asked about that too.

Elsewhere this morning, Kellyanne Conway will appear on “Fox News Sunday” to dunk on a few Democrats over Russiagate herself. And Bernie Sanders and Amy Klobuchar will sit down with “Face the Nation” and “This Week,” respectively, to savage Joe Biden and his “busy hands.” The full line-up is at the AP.
