It's on: Sean Bielat vs. Barney Frank

More than any other race this year, this one reminds me of the quixotic conservative campaigns against Murtha in 2006 and 2008. That is to say, I’m 98 percent sure we’ll end up having our hearts broken, but an upset would be so intoxicatingly sweet that I want to do what I can to help promote Bielat. The clips come from today’s talk radio debate in Massachusetts, which was notable mainly for Frank demanding that Bielat stop interrupting him even when he wasn’t interrupting him. In case you don’t want to watch it all and are looking for a place to dive in, clip two begins with a discussion of the tea party. Would it shock you to know that Frank isn’t a big fan? Here’s the donation page on Bielat’s website. Nothing else you do today will make you feel as good. Exit quotation: “Barney Frank hasn’t had a real opponent since 1982. There hasn’t been anybody who’s put together a serious campaign, raised the money necessary to win, and competed in a real way. We’re doing that this year.”
