Audio: Mark Steyn on the end of free speech in Canada

Twenty minutes with Shire Network News, starting at 13:35 of podcast 115 in the right-hand sidebar. The persecution of Ezra Levant is being carried out by a single Star Chamber; the persecution of Mark Steyn is being carried out by three, an unnecessary redundancy given that the defendant is always guilty in these Kafkaesque situations. There’s a lot to unpack but pay particular attention to his point about what a society free of offense requires of the state. Hence the polite banality of Levant’s interrogator and the “smiley face” to which SNN refers in its post as Canada transitions: A spoonful of sugar makes the, er, medicine go down.
