BREAKING: Iran Attacks Qatar, US Bases On High Alert for Incoming

God help them if they hurt one hair on an American head. That's all I can say.

Word is they've fired at our other assets in the region as well. I'm waiting on confirmation for that.

Griffin is at the Pentagon and they've been talking about GPS jamming, which I had heard this morning.

I'd seen earlier that they'd closed the airspace over Qatar.

Now there's a more than even chance that this is one of their famous feints, where there's lots of fire and noise for the cameras and public consumption, but as little damage as possible to really torque off a response.

This will be an ongoing thread, so you might have to refresh it to see new updates or info we find.

The Iranian state media is officially calling this “Basharat al-Fath," so apparently they are going to consider it a 'thing.' Folks in the Qatari capitol city of Doha are not enjoying the fireworks.

The Qataris have issued a statement and they are very unhappy.

...Qatar’s Foreign Minstry spokesman, in a statement on X, said, “We express the State of Qatar’s strong condemnation of the attack on Al Udeid Air Base by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, and consider it a flagrant violation of the State of Qatar’s sovereignty and airspace, as well as of international law and the United Nations Charter.”

“We affirm that the State of Qatar reserves the right to respond directly in a manner proportional to the nature and scale of this blatant aggression and in accordance with international law,” the spokesman said.

I'm reading that the Saudis have scrambled fighters in case of Iranian assets, but I'm not sure 1) what they have left 2) what they'd be willing to put up to sacrifice.

And here might be some proof that this could well be all for the cameras back home...well. When they leave them on, I mean.

Ah, Ed just pinged me on this. Kabuki theater for the masses and to save face? Wouldn't be the first time.

...The officials said Iran symbolically needed to strike back at the U.S. but at the same time carry it out in a way that allowed all sides an exit ramp; they described it as a similar strategy to 2020 when Iran gave Iraq heads up before firing ballistic missiles an American base in Iraq following the assassination of its top general.”

In other words, 'Please don't hurt us.

And the sirens in Kuwait and Bahrain were purely precautionary, according to the latest info.

Official Qatari statement. They got all the missiles, and nothing was damaged.

So the Iranians fired six missiles at Qatar from their dwindling stockpile for this show, and I think lobbed one at another base in Iraq, all coordinated through the entertainment offices of each country so there'd be no harm, no foul.

I wish we hadn't had such a foul southern border for the next phase. It makes me sick to my stomach thinking about it.

...There were 1272 nationals of Iran released into the country.

Under Joe Biden, we had over 10 million people cross that border.

That's what created the biggest national security vulnerability this country has ever seen.

Beege ADDS: In a strange aside, yet another prediction of Trump-induced disaster fails to materialize. Iran specifically 'attacks' a US installation in Qatar (no matter how well choreographed, something can always go horrifically wrong), after laying waste to Iran's nuclear weapons program...and the price of oil falls.

How wild is that?

Oil prices slipped more than $3, or 4%, on Monday after Iran attacked the U.S. military base in Qatar in retaliation for U.S. attacks on its nuclear facilities, and took no action to disrupt oil and gas tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.
Brent crude futures were down $2.91, or 3.8%, at $74.09 a barrel by 1:13 p.m. ET (1713GMT). U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude (WTI) eased $2.8, or 3.8%, to $71.06.

Sincerely grateful that everyone is safe and sound so far.

...“I can confirm that al Udeid Air Base was attacked by short-range and medium-range ballistic missiles originating from Iran today,” a Defense Department official told The Daily Signal Monday afternoon. “At this time, there are no reports of U.S. casualties. We are monitoring this situation closely and will provide more information as it becomes available.”
