I mean, sincerely - God bless this guy. It's nice to have bazillions of dollars and enjoy them for the rest of your life.
But to take that kind of money, fearlessly make more doing amazing things and then risk it all - every business, your own freedom in some instances - over and over again to keep the signal flowing? To open the throttle on the worldwide web and leave it roaring? To fight against the darkness and Iowahawk's smothering pillow?
Thank God for Elon Musk.
He's done it again.
John posted yesterday about Elon and Rumble joining forces against the Global Alliance for Responsible Media (GARM):
Elon Musk's X has just filed a lawsuit against the Global Alliance for Responsible Media (GARM). The suit accuses the group of violating anti-trust laws by creating an advertising cartel designed to restrict money going to any site or publication which refuses to meet GARM's definition of "brand safe." On X, Musk himself described the move as a declaration of war:
A self-appointed censorship group that had worked to shut down advertising support for websites and media platforms that didn't toe the line and maintain the narrative. Buck their messages and GARM made sure your money stream dried up.
BREAKING: Rumble CEO explains how groups like GARM & World Federation of Advertisers created a monopoly over all the major ad budgets.

Rumble has joined đť•Ź in suing these groups who conspired to block ad revenue from going to certain platforms and content creators. pic.twitter.com/HEHeBkRymi
They used their influence here against us, at HotAir and our sister sites, and parent media.
Major corporations worked to make sure independent thoughts and news as it happened - which was not as they wanted it seen or viewpoints not acceptable to their positions - never made it into the light of day or onto your screen.
These corporations support CENSORSHIP. They are #GARM they want us silenced. pic.twitter.com/7JiXXy9VC5

All couched in the wokest, safest of terms like "responsible media."
Who doesn't want to be "responsible"? Have everyone be safe? But they determined what was responsible, safe, and needed to be seen.
Their advertising boycotts would eventually force you off the air or innerwebs for lack of capital.
For example, Unilever didn't like the inconvenient laptop story.
Reading @elonmusk’s lawsuit against GARM et al.

Incredible.@Unilever wanted to censor the Hunter Biden laptop story. Under the false pretense of “brand safety standards”. Using the advertising spend monopoly of HARM to coerce social media companies to censor content.

This is election interference.
It is an undisclosed campaign contribution.
It is illegal.
And if it isn’t, it should be.
And I would like to know if the government was directly or indirectly involved.
Who is on the board of Unilever?
You see how insidious this was. How devastating it was to both the business or information being targeted and the right to freedom of information. So Musk, Rumble and others filed that federal anti-trust lawsuit. I guess GARM knew their goose was cooked, because they rolled over like a dog today.
What a thing of beauty.
A global advertising group has suspended the operations of a unit focused on brand safety days after Elon Musk’s X sued the association for allegedly leading an illegal ad boycott.
The World Federation of Advertisers (WFA) confirmed on Thursday that it would halt its Global Alliance for Responsible Media (GARM) non-profit initiative. The project was started in 2019 in part to help advertisers avoid having their promotions show up alongside content they deem harmful.
...X, formerly Twitter, filed a federal lawsuit earlier this week against WFA and member companies, including Unilever, Mars and CVS Health. The suit alleged that the WFA engaged in anticompetitive behavior and organized an advertising boycott that ultimately damaged X’s financial health.
In the lawsuit, filed in the Northern District of Texas, X’s attorneys referenced previous allegations made by the Republican-led House Judiciary Committee against GARM that claimed the group’s activities “rob consumers of choices” and are “likely illegal under the antitrust laws.”
What a victory.
It's going to affect so many people and so many outlets.
GARM was targeting shows and outlets like The Daily Wire, @joerogan, @FoxNews, @BreitbartNews, @X, and more. After @JudiciaryGOP, @Jim_Jordan, @benshapiro, and @elonmusk exposed their corruption, they announced today that are disbanding.

When we fight, we win. pic.twitter.com/qDsXFVTJpr
And the battle all started because one guy wasn't going to be dictated to by anyone or be blackmailed into submission. He had the money to back it up and expose every last evil doer.
...Musk told advertisers during a public interview last November to “Go f---yourself” if they were attempting to “blackmail” him by pausing their X ad spending.
“The whole world will know that those advertisers killed the company and we will document it in great detail,” Musk said at the time.
That "Eff You" should be considered one of the shots heard 'round the world for all time as far as I"m concerned.
Everyone knows they're already firing up the next censorship platform, the next "misinformation" bureau, the next demonization scheme.
...For the free speech community, this has always been a game of Whac-A-Mole as censorship and blacklisting operations are exposed, shutdown, and then reappear in other forms. There are other media rating systems like NewsGuard that can take up the slack. https://t.co/4GVdHMDTCc

But for today - this big beautiful free day - EFF YOU...
GARM, the advertising industry's censorship cartel, is shutting down.

Two days after @X and @rumblevideo filed a lawsuit against it.
Eight days after @FFO_Freedom exposed its members' billions of dollars in government contracts.
One month after @Jim_Jordan and the Judiciary… https://t.co/dgnPaxEjpc

You have to believe.
Sincerely - thanks, dude.
