#MeToo travesty: At least Trevor Bauer could wait out being canceled *UPDATED*

A long, long time ago…okay, two years…a Cy Young award winner and one of the best pitchers in baseball was playing for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Youngish, handsome, rich single fellow that he was, he spent some time with a young woman who had sought out his acquaintance.

The pitcher’s name is Trevor Bauer and he freely admits they spent a couple evenings together in…um…the biblical fashion.

Only, more like a consensual, friendly, Gomorrah kind of biblical, judging from descriptions in the press.

…Bauer and the woman had “a brief and wholly consensual sexual relationship” starting in April 2021, Bauer’s attorney Jon Fetterolf said in a statement posted to Twitter by ESPN reporter Jeff Passan. The agent claims to have messages showing the woman asking for rough sex, including asking to be “choked out” and slapped in the face.

“In both of their encounters, [the woman] drove from San Diego to Mr. Bauer’s residence in Pasadena, Calif. where she went on to dictate what she wanted from him sexually and he did what was asked,” the statement said.

“Following each of her only two meetings with Mr. Bauer, [the woman] spent the night and left without incident, continuing to message Mr. Bauer with friendly and flirtatious banter.”

Whatever. Consenting adults.

Or at least that’s what Bauer thought, right up to where she was awarded a temporary domestic violence restraining order against him, while blasting horrific assault allegations and photos to the press. All seemingly out of the blue.

…Fetterolf continued … “Mr. Bauer and [the accuser] have not corresponded in over a month and have not seen each other in over six weeks. Her basis for filing a protection order is nonexistent, fraudulent, and deliberately omits key facts, information, and her own relevant communications. Any allegations that the pair’s encounters were not 100% consensual are baseless, defamatory, and will be refuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

MLB superstar Trevor Bauer is currently under investigation for assault … after a woman claims the Cy Young winner got physical with her earlier this year.

But, sources close to the case say Bauer is adamant the encounter was nothing more than consensual, rough sex with someone he met online. We’re told they hooked up twice.

“Twice” was apparently enough to begin the wholesale destruction of this young man’s life based on the accusations and the blockbuster publicity. As you can see, it didn’t take the Dodgers but 3 days to go from accusation to letting him play while Major League Baseball “investigated” to benching him. Just that fast with all the uproar.

Throughout, Bauer maintained his innocence, even as the accusations became more lurid.

…Bauer and his camp have strongly denied the allegations … claiming the encounters were entirely consensual and that the pitcher’s accuser actually enthusiastically encouraged the rough sex.

In fact, Bauer and his reps say the Dodger has text message proof that the woman was elated by being choked and had even asked Bauer to “gimme all the pain.”

In court docs filed this week, a woman claims that during hookups with Bauer in California in April and May … the 30-year-old Cy Young winner strangled her unconscious and had anal sex with her while she was out.

The woman also stated Bauer punched her in the head and face … leaving her bloodied, scratched and black and blue.

The Dodgers put him on paid leave, canceled his Bobblehead night, and sat back as a court fight raged over a permanent restraining order against the pitcher.

Steadfastly asserting his innocence, Bauer and his team made the case the injury photos appeared to have been doctored, and that a large cash settlement she was hoping for – exposed when text messages between the “victim” and her lawyer became available – would NEVER be forthcoming.

…They also say messages with her legal team show she had hoped Bauer would “offer me major cash then make me sign an nda” in a settlement.

Bauer’s attorneys made it clear in the docs, though, that “no settlements or cash offers have or ever will be made.”

After a week of grandstanding, the trial judge DENIED the permanent restraining order. The woman’s case had been undone by her own instructions to Bauer, which the judge ruled he never went beyond, ick as they were.

…A judge just ruled the woman accusing Trevor Bauer of sexual assault will NOT be allowed to have a permanent restraining order against the MLB star.

The decision came down Thursday morning in an L.A. courtroom after three-plus days of proceedings … with a judge ordering the temporary restraining order against Bauer must be dissolved.

In announcing her order … the judge said Bauer “did not exceed limits” that his accuser had set before their two sexual encounters in April and May.

That wasn’t the end of it, although you’d be forgiven for thinking it should have been. The uproar from wymmin’s groups, #MeToo and MLB’s natural aversion to anything uncomfortable dropped the hammer on what was shaping up to be a falsely accused man, however distatsteful.

…Despite Thursday’s ruling, Bauer’s MLB administrative leave has been extended through Aug. 27. (2021)

Two months after the authorities declined to press charges, MLB suspended Bauer from baseball without pay for TWO YEARS, announcing he had “violated league joint policy on domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse.”

A year ago September, Bauer said he had video evidence that the woman was lying, and certain “witnesses” had come forward. Those testimonies plus arbitration helped reduce his suspension to 194 games and reinstatement, but the Dodgers dropped his conntract anyway. He was poison by this time, after suing his accuser, her countersuit, and, again, the relentless pressure to which he never caved.

Bauer would never stop proclaiming his innocence.

He went to Japan to keep playing baseball, and the legal battles to clear his name rolled on.

Until yesterday, when both lawsuits against the parties were settled.

Trevor Bauer’s attorneys, Shawn Holley and Jon Fetterolf, released a statement to TMZ Sports … saying, “Trevor Bauer and Lindsey Hill have settled all outstanding litigation. Both of their respective claims have been withdrawn with prejudice, effective today.”

“Mr. Bauer did not make – and never has made – any payments to Ms. Hill, including to resolve their litigation. With this matter now at rest, Mr. Bauer can focus completely on baseball.”

Bauer also made a video statement on the matter … saying he hopes it is the last time he has to defend his integrity and reputation in a public setting.

Trevor Bauer then made this video and I hope you watch it. It’s enraging.

I hope Bauer takes MLB to the cleaners.

“Professional” women like this deserve all the scorn in the world:

All I can do is think of the guys who make a really crappy decision – or who do something nice for a really vindictive, crappy chick – and pay for it for the rest of their lives because they weren’t a $50M a year man. Or have anyone to defend them.

As for what the going rate for a two night tumble with a conniving skank can cost you?

…Trevor is currently pitching for the Yokohama DeNA BayStars in Japan. Despite never having been charged with a crime in relation to Hill’s allegations, Major League Baseball suspended Bauer for 324 games. The suspension was subsequently reduced to 194 games.

Technically, Bauer is now eligible to sign with an MLB team, though it remains to be seen if anyone’s interested.

Your life and your dreams, basically.

Be smarter.

*UPDATED*: In the tweet with Bauer’s video, Elon asks Trevor whether he knew if the woman’s lawyers had the texts, etc. Trevor answered him last night – it turns out the lawyers had EVERYTHING the entire time and NEVER turned it over to the defense.

I hope the CA bar is looking hard at this right now.

It appears her lawyers had the evidence the entire time. Speaking specifically about the video of her laying in bed next to me with no marks on her face the morning after she claims I brutally attacked her, an email containing that video was sent to her attorney Bryan Freedman before the DVRO hearing in 2021 and it was never turned over to us. Perhaps that’s why he insisted on adding his name to the released parties section in the settlement agreement. There was also a 12 day span of texts between lindsey and two of her closest friends immediately following the incident that were deleted. We asked for them in discovery for the dvro, they weren’t turned over. We also argued that they must be turned over in the dvro proceeding. They were not. Lindsey hills other law firm, Meyer Olson Lowy and Meyers LLP, who co represented her through that court process, had them the whole time.
