I come to Hot Air bearing GOOD news! Apparently, it’s ok for Americans to question elections again … well, at least elections this year and some Americans. Namely, Democrats.
If you dare question THE MOST SUPER SAFE AND TOTALLY LEGIT election of 2020, you’re still a big ol’ mean traitorous insurrectionist who smells funny or something.
In other words, since POLITICO is pretty sure Democrats are getting their clocks cleaned in the midterms (happy dance), they want to make sure their pals on the Left are not accused of sedition or other ugly smears if and when they question the results. C’mon, we all know if they lose Pennsylvania or Georgia it will be never ending dumpster fire of Lefties screeching ‘Russia Russia Russia’.
No no no, they save those loving terms and accusations for people like you and me. Aren’t they givers?
Take a look at this from POLITICO:
The 2020 presidential election was rife with allegations of voting machine hacks that were later debunked.
Yet there are real risks that hackers could tunnel into voting equipment and other election infrastructure to try to undermine Tuesday’s vote.https://t.co/kDij1J08eU

Notice they’re all but mocking anyone who dared question elections in 2020 in the same tweet where they claim there are REAL risks to elections in 2022. Hacking threats and of COURSE, ‘disinformation’. Forget media and Big Tech colluded with Democrats to keep the Hunter Biden story quiet before the 2020 election, NOW they’re worried about disinformation.
Alrighty then.
From POLITICO:
“More attention to securing voting systems hasn’t eliminated critical technical and human threats to our elections,” said Matthew Weil, executive director of the Bipartisan Policy Center’s Democracy Program. “And this cycle is practice for 2024.”
The federal government has worked since 2016 to improve coordination with state and local officials on everything from fixing digital vulnerabilities to promoting trusted sources of information. Biden administration officials say that’s one reason that they’ve seen less foreign interference than in 2016.
But as CISA Director Jen Easterly, whose agency leads federal election security efforts, told reporters recently, “The current election threat environment is more complex than it has ever been.” She cited the ways that multiple different threats, from cyberattacks to disinformation to the harassment of election officials, are overlapping.
Bipartisan.
Right. Sure they are.
These were likely the same people telling us that Biden winning with 81 MILLION votes after spending a year campaigning from his basement was completely on the up-and-up. Safest, most secure elections ever, but somehow since then things have magically gotten worse again. Funny how that happens when it looks like Republicans have the advantage, ain’t it?
Look, I’m not naive, I know there is a gross bias when it comes to these ‘programs’ and officials (and of course, the media) but you’d think they could at least stop pretending we’re too stupid to see what’s really going on. Is that too much to ask?!
Funny how the 2020 election, and ONLY the 2020 election was perfectly safe and free from fraud.
— Can of Spam (@iDoLikeSpam) November 7, 2022
Perfectly safe and free from fraud.
Yup.
But NOW they’re worried.
So, you guys can question election results before voting has even wrapped up because you know your side is going to take an absolute beating? Is that the take away here? You absolute psychos.
— Meara (@MillennialOther) November 7, 2022
Absolute psychos?! Hey now, that’s an insult to absolute psychos everywhere.
And of course it’s okay for them to question the results of elections before we even have them, they’re our betters in the media.
Silly head.
When Republicans lose, the term for it is "election deniers!"
When Democrats lose, it's "election fraud."

Even though they’ve told us time and again there is no such thing as voter fraud.
Unless they LOSE and then they’ll bleat about Russia for four years.

Great meme. Not sure I’ve seen a more accurate description of ‘journalism’ in a long time.
Maybe we should start calling what THEY do, ‘Journalism Fraud.’
Has a nice ring to it, don’t you think?
