With all the outrageous outrage over Colin Kaepernick refusing to stand for the national anthem, some additional remarks the mediocre 49er’s quarterback made seems to have gotten lost in the shuffle.
During a press gaggle at his locker over the weekend, Kaepernick explained his #BlackLivesMatter theology and how it’s motivating his disrespect for our flag and then he dropped this bomb:
“We have a presidential candidate who has deleted emails and done things illegally and is a presidential candidate. That doesn’t make sense to me because if that was any other person you’d be in prison.”
Now, as heartening as this is to hear from anyone in the world of sports or pop-culture, it doesn’t take away from the fact that the less-than-average millionaire quarterback is a supreme jerk with no sense of perspective, wisdom or judgement and is a horrible representative for the NFL brand, which is already having serious image problems.
So, despite his obvious, logical insight into the Hillary Clinton email scandal (wisdom and insight lost on 98% of the mainstream media) we can’t celebrate this ingrate in any way whatsoever. We merely raise the topic to point out that somehow ESPN and CNN and the major broadcast networks who covered this story 24/7 since Saturday seems to have overlooked this element. That’s all.
