The news keeps getting worse. This morning CBP sources exclusively told Fox News Channel that the number of apprehensions of those illegally crossing the southern border has reached an alarming 1,000,000 so far this fiscal year.
FY 2024 began on October 1, 2023. This is the earliest that the 1M milestone has ever been reached. In the last 24 hours, 6800 illegal immigrants were apprehended at the southern border. For comparison, the total for FY 2023 was 909,182 in the same period.
Of particular interest is the increase in the number of Chinese illegal immigrants crossing the border. They made up the fastest-growing group of border crossers last year. If the pace continues, the record will be broken in FY 2024.
CBP reported over 37,000 Chinese illegals last year. That number is nearly 20,000 since October this year. A CBP source told FNC that about 150 Chinese illegal immigrants were apprehended every day in FY 2024.
Dr. Phil has some thoughts on the Chinese illegal immigrants. He was a guest on Sean Hannity's show on Fox Tuesday night. He recently went to the southern border to see the situation for himself. He says the Chinese are sent here to be spies.
'We would be incredibly narcissistic to assume that these people are coming in here just because they're in the neighborhood,' Dr Phil told Sean Hannity.
'What are they doing? If they're working in farming, if they're working in industry, I promise you they are expected to do certain things. Are they spying? Are they sending seeds back from farming to China? Are they getting plans from industries they're working on?'
'More than six million illegal immigrants have crossed Texas' Southern border in just three years,' he said.
'That's more than the population of 33 different states in this country.'
Dr. Phil's opinion may not be far-fetched. The Chinese government has been spying on America for decades. Its most blatant action recently was the alleged weather balloon that flew across the United States gathering information in some sensitive spots.
TikTok, operated by the Chinese government, is undermining attempts to strengthen the border by advertising weaknesses in the border to illegal migrants. It points out holes in the border wall between Mexico and California, for example.
Migrants who formed an orderly queue to cross through the hole on Sunday told 60 Minutes that they learned about the entryway thanks to a video on TikTok.
One video gives step-by-step instructions on hiring smugglers, and detailed directions to holes in the border defense.
Migrant smugglers have also been known to advertise their illegal services in exchange for cash on the Chinese-owned app.
Social media plays a big role in illegal immigration. Human smugglers boast on social media how easy it is to cross the U.S.-Mexico border. The Chinese illegal immigrants are using the Darien Gap route, the most dangerous route for illegals to use. Chinese illegal immigrants now make up the fourth-highest nationality moving through the Darien Gap. In 2023, Venezuelans, Ecuadorians, and Haitians were the most frequent users of the Darien Gap, according to Panamanian immigration authorities.
The Chinese who are seeking asylum say they are seeking to escape a repressive political climate and poor economic prospects. Those are not legal reasons to be granted asylum under current immigration law. Most illegals claim to want asylum to get a job and have a better life in America. Financial reasons aren't legit reasons for asylum.
China's economy is struggling. Unemployment among young Chinese people is high. The U.N. predicts China will lose 310,000 people through emigration this year.
Of concern to immigration officials is the trend that most of the illegal immigrants, especially the Chinese, are single males of military service age.
The popular route to the US s through Ecuador, which has no visa requirements for Chinese nationals. Migrants from China join Latin Americans there to trek north through the once-impenetrable Darién and across several Central American countries before reaching the U.S. border. The journey is well-known enough it has its own name in Chinese: walk the line, or 'zouxian.'
Another concern of CBP is as of February 6, there have also been 160 gang members apprehended in the current number of apprehensions.
This FY24, USBP apprehended +160 undocumented subjects with gang affiliations.

These numbers point to how bad the Senate border bill was to secure the border. It allowed 5,000 illegal immigrants per day to be allowed in to be processed. As Senator Ted Cruz pointed out, "That works out to 1.8 million a year. That works out to about 6 million illegal immigrants over the three years of Biden…. So the idiotic Republican proposal was let's be for two-thirds of the border invasion that Biden has allowed."
The acceptable number of illegal aliens is zero.
The Senate vote on the border bill is expected to fail its test vote today. Both Republican and Democrat senators have objections. Republicans don't think it is strong enough and some Democrats think it is too strong.
As I have previously written, the border bill is a no-win for Republicans. It is to Joe Biden's benefit in this election year. He said in his speech yesterday that he and his surrogates will talk about Republicans who don't want to secure the border. It is a master class in gaslighting by Team Biden and the media will be willing partners in this ploy to blame Trump and MAGA Republicans for Joe Biden's border crisis.
All any voter has to do is look at the Trump administration's record on border security and it is clear that the border that Biden inherited on his first day in office was the most secure in recent history. This first action in the White House was to undo all the policies and agreements that provided border security. Biden can secure the border right now by pulling out his pen and signing executive orders to put back in place what works. He can also, most importantly, insist that current immigration laws are enforced. It's that simple - undo what he has done and the results will be immediate.
