Chicago Mayor Blasts Governor Abbott for 'Attacking the Country'

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson is a confused individual. He has been all over the map when it comes to the buses of illegal aliens arriving in his sanctuary city from Texas. When the buses first began to arrive, he held press conferences and declared that it was a political stunt. He disparaged Abbott as worse than Hitler, loading up illegal aliens and bussing them to the city they asked to be their destination. How dare he.

Then Johnson began to understand the consequences of sanctuary city status. He was turned away from the Biden administration when he asked for financial help. So, he began to understand why Abbott is going it alone with border security – he has no other choice. Texas has been ignored since March 2021 when Greg Abbott began his border security initiative, Operation Lone Star. He scheduled a trip to tour the southern border. Alas, he backed out of that trip and has not rescheduled such a tour. I don’t think Johnson wants to know the humanitarian chaos or the national security threat that comes from the Biden border crisis.

Now we are back to demonizing Greg Abbott. CBP reported a record of illegal border crossers on Tuesday. Ports of entry and international bridges have been closed so that personnel can concentrate on processing illegal immigrants.

The daily numbers are staggering. There is no way Texas can let this be the status quo. When more than 12,000 illegal immigrants flood the state a day, they have to go somewhere else. If no one is willing to bus them back across the border, then they will be bussed to sanctuary cities. They asked for them. There will be no end to migrant buses until Joe Biden secures the border, as Governor Abbott says.

“The issue is not just how we respond in the city of Chicago. It’s the fact that we have a governor, a governor, an elected official in the state of Texas that is placing families on buses without shoes, cold, wet, tired, hungry, afraid, traumatized,” Johnson said.

When the illegal immigrants get to Chicago, the Democratic leaders which have promoted it as a sanctuary city, bolster problems that are already hurting the city.

“They come to the city of Chicago, where we have homelessness, we have mental health clinics that have been shut down and closed,” according to Johnson.

“You have people who are seeking employment. … The governor of Texas needs to take a look in the mirror of the chaos that he is causing for this country.”

I can think of two people that can look in the mirror and neither one of them is Greg Abbott. The creator of the chaos is Joe Biden and his top minion, Secretary Mayorkas. Mayor Johnson can look in a mirror, too. as a supporter of sanctuary cities, including Chicago. They preened that they welcome everyone, regardless of legal status. Johnson and other mayors never said there was a limit on how many illegals would be accepted in their cities. As long as they were all remaining in Texas, it was easy for them to run their mouths. Now that reality has arrived, it’s a different story.

Illegal aliens are given clothes, food, water, and other necessities when they are processed by border patrol. It’s ballsy of Johnson to pretend that Abbott is the bad guy here. When they travel to a sanctuary city, they are asked where they want to go and that is where they go. They aren’t paying for the trip. The buses have food and water for the trip. To act like the illegal aliens are transported like cattle is absurd. Most buses only have 40-50 passengers.

There was a new law signed in Texas this week. Governor Abbott signed a bill that allows any law enforcement in the state to arrest and deport illegal immigrants. If the federal government is shirking its duty, the governor is acting on his own. What else is he to do? The problem is getting worse, not better. Democrats are asking the DOJ to stop this action. They want open borders. The new law goes into effect in March, if legal challenges don’t stop it.

Legal scholar Karine Jean-Pierre declared the new law is “incredibly extreme.” In the Democrat bubble, it is extreme to demand that the people in a state are there legally.

Asked about the measure, Senate Bill 4, during a news conference on Tuesday, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters the law “will not, and does not, make the communities in Texas safer.”

“It just doesn’t,” Jean-Pierre added.

Asked if President Joe Biden supported the federal government taking legal action, Jean-Pierre said the Department of Justice would decide if a lawsuit would be filed and that she was “not going to get ahead of that.”

“The federal court, not individual states, are in charge of determining how and when to remove non-citizens for violating immigration laws,” she added later. “That is where that sits and that’s where that belongs.”

That is what a person who reads out of a briefing book sounds like. When law enforcement apprehends illegal aliens and removes them from the community, it makes the community safer. That is common sense, something that is sorely lacking in the Biden administration.

Something that Abbott’s migrant buses have done is to separate Democrats into those who want the southern border closed and those who do not. With the 2024 election looming in the background, most politicians are reading the polls and finding that immigration is a big issue this time. Constituents are telling Democrats to do something about the border. There is no getting away from the fact that every community is a border community in Biden’s America.

Greg Abbott isn’t the bad guy here. That’s Joe Biden.
