Senator John Kennedy Signs on to Senator Marshall's NOTICE Act

It is easy for sanctuary cities to criticize border states for sending illegal aliens to their communities. Why, then, is there no such pushback from these cities when DHS does the same?

The dirty little secret is that DHS and Secretary Mayorkas were transferring illegal aliens out of Texas and Arizona in order to ease overcrowding at the border long before Governor Abbott began doing it through Operation Lone Star. It often happens in the dead of night so that locals don’t see what is going on.

Senator Roger Marshall (R-KS) has introduced the National Oversight of Transported Immigrants to Communities is Essential Act (NOTICE Act) which would force federal agencies to provide information to states when the government transfers illegal aliens to their communities. States would be given a heads-up when illegal aliens are sent from the U.S.-Mexico border. “Americans deserve to know who is being pushed into their communities at taxpayers’ expense,” Sen. Roger Marshall (R-Kan.) exclusively told The Post.

“The secretary of Homeland Security and the secretary of Health and Human Services shall notify the governor of a state and the chief executive officer of a unit of local government in such state of any alien that is being transported by … entit[ies] receiving federal funding for such transportation from a location within 100 miles of the United States border,” the legislation says.

The required information — to be sent before any migrant leaves — would include a name, age, gender and country of origin, criminal record, and disclosure of whether the individual has been or is associated with a gang, according to a copy of the legislation obtained by The Post.

That’s basic information that any community would want on people being sent to their towns by the government. It’s a matter of public safety. The agencies also would have to disclose the types of security screenings that have been performed on the migrants.

“You’d think when you have Democrat governors in deep-blue states like Illinois and New York complaining about the strain and cost the busing of migrants has had on their states, that this administration would start to show some willingness here in Washington to secure the border, but it hasn’t,” Marshall said..

“Joe Biden’s border crisis has made every single community across the country less safe,” Marshall said. “Nothing about the invasion at our southern border is compassionate, it’s certainly not safe, and absolutely unsustainable.”ings performed on the illegal aliens.

A major problem with the huge new population of illegal aliens in this country is that they are not being properly vetted. The large numbers of those coming across the border without any documentation overwhelms Border Patrol and other law enforcement along the border. The Biden administration has not provided adequate personnel and resources on the border to handle the mass migration that resembles more of an invasion.

To be clear, the notification requirement only applies to migrants transferred by the federal government. That information isn’t required on new arrivals transferred by border states or privately funded groups.

Senator John Kennedy (R-La.), a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, joined Senator Marshall in support of the federal government notifying states and local communities when DHS transports illegal aliens into their communities.

“The Biden administration is turning every town in America into a border town, and it’s putting Louisianians at risk. I’m proud to support this common-sense bill to give state and local law enforcement agencies the information they need to protect our communities from migrants who commit crime,” said Kennedy.

“Joe Biden’s border crisis has made every single community across the country less safe. Nothing about the invasion at our southern border is compassionate, it’s certainly not safe, and absolutely unsustainable. Americans deserve to know who is being pushed into their communities at taxpayer’s expense,” said Marshall.

Senator Kennedy is right – it is common sense legislation. That is something that is in short supply in Washington, D.C.
