The reporting now is that 9 Americans have been killed since Hamas began a war with Israel. Over a hundred people have been taken hostage by Hamas and it is likely there are Americans in that number, too.

As I’ve said in previous posts, and will no doubt say many more times, this administration is inept and I believe it to be dangerously clueless, especially in foreign affairs. Biden’s history is one of failure and bad decisions. Now, with American involvement, to some extent, in the war in Ukraine, and in the war in Israel, the widespread incompetence running rampant in this administration has never been more clear.

The Biden administration likes to say that no American will be left behind when it comes to evacuation efforts overseas. Sadly, the Biden administration’s track record does not show this promise to be true. Ask the Americans still stuck in Afghanistan. I fear Americans in Israel may be ignored or overlooked. Kevin McCarthy said this isn’t Afghanistan. The Biden administration will not be allowed to do what they did in Afghanistan.

“Turn off the bbq and speak to the American people.” That is something Kevin McCarthy said this morning. He advised Biden to stand up and speak out. Recognize the importance of this moment in history.

Some American lawmakers were in Israel when the war began. I noted that Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY, Levi Strauss) was in Israel with his family for a Bar Mitzvah. They sheltered from the attacks of Hamas and were able to leave for New York early Sunday morning.

Goldman and his family sheltered from rocket fire in the interior stairwell of their hotel until they were able to safely depart for New York early Sunday morning.

Kanter said Goldman is “grateful for the assistance of the State Department and Israeli authorities, and he hopes all Americans can come together to support Israel’s right to defend herself from terrorism and war crimes.”

Goldman called on Congress Sunday morning to replenish and expand the Iron Dome, Israel’s air missile defense system capable of defending against short-range rockets and intercepting them in the air.

Senator Cory Booker and his staff were also able to exit Israel on Sunday.

“Senator Booker and accompanying staff were in Jerusalem when Hamas launched their attacks against Israel on Saturday, and sheltered in place for their safety,” Maya Krishna-Rogers, a spokesperson for Booker, said in a statement. “We are grateful that Senator Booker and our colleagues were able to safely depart Israel earlier today.”

Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX) is chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee. He said on Monday morning that he and other lawmakers are working to get Americans out of Israel and back home.

Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY) said he is working to help constituents in Israel.

“Well, we have been in touch with dozens of constituents who are in Israel currently. Obviously, for their safety and security, I’m not going to get too specific. But we are working with them, as well as the consulate, to try and get them out as quickly as possible,” he said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

“Given the situation on the ground, we want to make sure that all of our residents here in the 17th District get home as quickly as possible,” he added.

Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) is working on helping 53 of his constituents who are “panicked” and “trying to find their way to get back to America.”

“If anybody — if you haven’t been to Israel, in southern Israel by the Gaza border, by Gaza City, yes, it is really easy for them to come across that border. That’s what we saw. We need to provide every assistance possible to Israel to get Americans back,” Donalds said on Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures.”

“And, listen, let me be very clear with Hamas. Touch an American’s head and see what happens to you. That’s my position. That needs to be the position of the president of the United States right now. We need to get those people back and support Israel in every way possible to see that happen,” he added.

Today is Columbus Day. The president is not scheduled to make any remarks today. The White House called a lid before noon so the press doesn’t expect to see or hear from Biden for the rest of the day. It is unimaginable that this president is silent and out of sight at a time like this. Maybe the bbq yesterday tired him out.

Here’s a little flashback from 2014. Joan Rivers was so good about calling out b.s. Heads up: *NSFW*
