Abbott sends first busload of illegal migrants to Denver

As promised, Governor Greg Abbott is making good on re-starting his program that busses illegal aliens from the over-crowded Texas-Mexico border to sanctuary cities outside of Texas. He has bussed them to Washington, D.C (and the vice-president’s residence), New York City, Chicago, and Philadelphia. Abbott recently said that more cities would be added to the list, including Denver and Los Angeles.

The Biden border crisis has overwhelmed Texas and it is unsustainable. As Governor Abbott frequently says, every state is a border state now. Abbott isn’t the only person who is bussing the migrants out of Texas. DHS busses and flies them all across the country. This is as Joe Biden wants things to be in our country. A sovereign border isn’t a priority for him. He is showing a dereliction of duty by not securing the borders, his top job assignment as president. So, on Thursday, Abbott announced buses would begin to head to Denver. It is one of the Democrat-led cities that boast of being a sanctuary city.

Abbott began bussing illegal aliens to other states as a way to force national attention on Texas’ immigration problems. The state has sent more than 19,000 migrants to the cities, all run by Democrats. Democrats say the busses sent out of state are a political stunt, that the migrants are being used as political pawns. So, is Biden’s government agency, DHS, using them as political pawns, too? Why is it ignored by the media that DHS does this, too? We know why. It’s because Biden ended all of Trump’s successful policies and agreements in handling securing the southern border so prove that he is the anti-Trump president. It was an exceedingly short-sighted decision because he had nothing to take the place of what was being done. He just opened the border and let them in. He had no plan.

Not only does Biden have no plans to handle the border, he refuses to visit and see for himself the damage he has done to border states. He doesn’t care. He says he’s too busy. Yet, he’s not too busy to go to one of his Delaware homes or Camp David over 40% of the time he’s been in office. He’s not too busy to go to a manufacturing plant and pander to union members and trash Republicans. He’s not too busy to fly to Ireland for a family vacation.

Abbott’s office said the first group of migrants sent to Denver arrived Thursday afternoon near Civic Center Park, which is in downtown Denver near the Colorado Capitol.

“Until the President and his Administration step up and fulfill their constitutional duty to secure the border, the State of Texas will continue busing migrants to self-declared sanctuary cities like Denver to provide much-needed relief to our small border towns,” Abbott said in a statement.

Most Texas border communities are small, rural towns without the resources or infrastructure in place to handle a flood of illegal immigrants in need of shelter, food, medical care, and education for their children. DHS has not provided an adequate number of Border Patrol agents or other law enforcement agencies to secure the border. Texas taxpayers have spent more than $2B on the border. Immigration and border security is a federal issue. Abbott is doing all he can but he is limited in scope.

Denver’s mayor talks a good game but when he’s called upon to deliver on what he brags about – welcoming all to his city – then he starts bussing them out of his city.

Denver has already been struggling to deal with a large increase in migrants. A week ago, Mayor Michael Hancock reactivated the city’s Emergency Operations Center in response. And earlier this month, the city stopped sheltering migrants who had not been processed by immigration authorities.

Over the winter, Colorado briefly bused asylum-seekers to New York City and Chicago.

Denver specifically has long prided itself on being welcoming toward immigrants.

“If being a sanctuary city means that we value taking care of one another, and welcoming refugees and immigrants, then I welcome the title,” Hancock said in 2017.

Hypocrite. All of the sanctuary city mayors who have seen buses of migrants arrive in their cities have proven to be hypocrites. And remember the residents of Martha’s Vineyard? They came unglued when Governor DeSantis flew illegal aliens to them. This is what they have all asked for. Welcome to the party, pals.
