The members of the Border Patrol union don’t have warm and fuzzy feelings for DHS Secretary Mayorkas, their big boss. In 2022 a video was released that showed the extent to which Border Patrol agents dislike Mayorkas. During a visit to several areas of the southern border, Mayorkas visited with Border Patrol agents and local officials. It did not go well.

Border Patrol agents are overwhelmed and have been so for three years. The Biden border crisis is deliberate and the president has ignored the crisis ever since he signed orders to stop the successful police of securing the border. He is so Trump-deranged that he made it his mission to prove he is not Trump. He thought the best way to do that was to throw open the southern border and let chaos reign. All along, though, whenever he or his people are questioned about border security, Mayorkas insists the border is secure. It’s closed, no matter what your lying eyes tell you. The latest jaw-dropping moment coming from the administration came when White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stood in the briefing room and said that illegal immigration is down by 90%. Holy moly. What a whopper. The union leadership points out this administration’s penchant for spreading propaganda.

You get the picture. There is no love lost there. Who can blame the rank-and-file members for walking away from Mayorkas? He doesn’t have their backs, as he proved during Whipgate. He threw those horse patrol agents under the bus when he knew the narrative spread by a Democrat operative on social media was false. The photographer of the pictures that open border supporters claims show agents whipping the migrants crossing the Rio Grande River into Texas said the agents did not whip anyone. Nonetheless, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Mayorkas, and all the usual Democrat suspects all chimed in that the agents would pay for their actions. They didn’t even pretend to act like they were operating on the premise that the agents were innocent until (unless) proven guilty. There still have been no apologies.

The administration is preparing for the end of Title 42. It will stop in one week. Suddenly the administration is showing some interest in the Biden border crisis. Mayorkas is traveling to Texas on Thursday and may actually go to the Rio Grande Valley, the epicenter of the border crisis. Usually, administration officials go to El Paso where it can be sanitized for the cameras and the problems of the border crisis aren’t as prevalent as they are in other areas.

The White House along with Mexico on Tuesday announced new immigration policies aimed at addressing the “humanitarian situation caused by unprecedented migration flows at our shared border and in the region” ahead of the ending next week of Title 42, a measure instituted to curb the spread of the coronavirus across the border.

Mexican officials agreed to continue to accept migrants from at least four countries who are sent back from the U.S.

“Today, the United States committed to continue to welcome individuals from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela under our parole process,” the White House said in a statement. “For its part, Mexico will continue to accept back migrants on humanitarian grounds.”

Better late than never, I guess. Biden deployed 1500 active duty service members to the southern border earlier this week. They won’t actually be doing security work, they will be behind a desk and working on processing illegal aliens and doing transportation work. It is a ridiculously small number and it won’t help with apprehensions when it all hits the fan next week, but here we are. This is Biden’s America and incompetence rules.

It is rare for me to agree with Robert Kennedy, Jr. but here is an example where we can agree. Being anti-open borders does not mean anti-legal immigration.

Is it possible to be pro-immigration AND pro closing the border? Yes. America should be a haven of freedom and prosperity, open to law-abiding migrants who will contribute to our society. However, immigration must proceed in an orderly, lawful manner. Right now we have chaos at…

The last time Mayorkas met with Border Patrol agents, they turned their backs on him and took him to task for his neglect. Nothing has gotten better for them, and certainly no thanks to Mayorkas, so I imagine his reception will be about the same. In the meantime, the propaganda will continue to flow.
