Heart stopping video: One-year-old dumped alone at river's edge by human smuggler

This is a heart-stopping video. A human smuggler carries a one-year-old baby boy over a concrete barrier on the Colorado River and sits the baby down. Then the smuggler turns and runs off. It all happens in a matter of seconds.

The confused baby stands up and begins to walk around. Fortunately, a Border Patrol agent in a truck saw the baby and sped to pick him up.

The little one is okay.

This happened in the Yuma, Arizona sector. What if that Border Patrol agent had not been there and seen the baby? I wonder how much the smuggler was paid to do that. The video is awful enough for even a CNN anchor to admit there is a border crisis. If only media outlets like CNN would cover the Biden border crisis as Fox News does. They don’t, though, because they want a Democrat in the White House. The only time CNN covers the southern border is when something goes very wrong, like a one-year-old baby being abandoned on the edge of the Colorado River.

Customs and Border Protection told CNN that the child has been identified, but the agency is unable to release his identity due to privacy regulations. “The child will be placed in the care of the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Refugee Resettlement,” spokesman John Mennell said.

I hope some relatives or a guardian has been found for the little boy so he doesn’t end up in the system for a long time.

Small children being abandoned at the southern border is not something new that is happening. There have been babies abandoned younger than one year old. After going through CBP custody, children who arrive without their parents are then transferred to Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) facilities around the country. Abandoned babies are usually placed into foster care until a permanent placement can be found.

The Yuma sector has been a hotspot for human smuggling. This week Border Patrol agents shut down a smuggling operation.

Senator Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) was among a group of bipartisan members of Congress and the U.S. Ambassador to Mexico who met with Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador in Mexico City over the weekend. She urged border security cooperation. She underscored current security measures and the humanitarian crisis on both sides of the border.

“Strong border security, healthy cross-border trade, and a fair immigration system all go together. Through cooperation with our Mexican counterparts and needed action by our federal government, we can – and must – achieve all three to keep Arizona families safe, promote a healthy economy, and ensure migrants are treated fairly and humanely,” said Sinema, Chair of the Senate Border Management Subcommittee.

AMLO has not been very cooperative with the United States in border security cooperation during the Biden administration. As long as Biden makes it clear that border security is not a priority for him, that won’t change.
