It’s time for the annual Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards. This year there is a new award that will be presented. The first King of Comedy award will be presented and the person to be honored is … drumroll, please… Adam Sandler. He’s a perfect choice.

Sandler has won 10 Kids’ Choice Awards orange blimps over the years in recognition of his comedic performances and voice acting. Now he will receive the first-ever Silver Blimp.

“Recognized for his prolific career in comedy as an actor, writer, producer, comedian and musician over the past 30 years, Sandler will accept his Silver Blimp from a giant, opulent throne on the KCA stage, before getting decimated in Nickelodeon’s iconic Slime,” reads a press release from Nickelodeon.

Sandler released a brief statement showing his excitement to be chosen for the honor.

“I’ve had so many great times at this fantastic awards extravaganza and I’ll always be excited to hang with da kiddies!! Love to all,” said Sandler.

Adam Sandler is primarily known for comedic roles but he has received good reviews for dramatic acting, too. His performances in Punch Drunk Love and Uncut Gems were well-received. He won an Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead in Uncut Gems in 2020. His films have grossed over $3 billion worldwide all totaled. A favorite Sandler movie in our house is Fifty First Dates. He and Drew Barrymore are a good match in that movie.

The Kids’ Choice Awards will air live on Saturday night. The show will be broadcast from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles for the first time.

The Kids’ Choice Awards are frequently guilty of going woke, like other award shows, and it is particularly cringeworthy because the audience is mostly young people. Michelle Obama frequently appeared during her eight years in the White House. As could be predicted, there was an absence of an appearance by a first lady during the Trump years. Now that Democrats are back in the White House, Kamala Harris was honored in 2021 as a ‘Champion of Kids’, of all things. She is half of the ticket that proudly proclaimed they were the most pro-abortion ticket – evah – in 2020.

There have been some excellent moments, too. Mostly, the show is pretty tame, given the young audience. Liberals don’t always try to push the envelope.

Adam Sandler will also be honored this year with the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.

Sandler is also set to receive this year’s Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. The award will be presented on March 19 at the Kennedy Center’s Concert Hall in Washington, D.C. The show will air on CNN one week later. Such stars as Jennifer Aniston, Judd Apatow, Drew Barrymore, Steve Buscemi, Conan O’Brien, Chris Rock and David Spade are scheduled to participate.

It looks like it’s his year. It’s nice he is getting special recognition. He just seems like a normal person. He hasn’t gotten mired down in scandals or shocking headlines that can happen to people in the entertainment industry. He’s multi-talented, working as an actor, screenwriter, producer, singer, and musician. Sandler has been married to his wife since 2003 and they have two daughters. Most interesting, though, to me is that he’s thought to be a Republican voter. He performed at the 2004 Republican National Convention. He contributed $2,100 to Rudy Giuliani’s 2008 presidential campaign (the maximum amount allowed at the time.) That sets him apart from the vast majority of his colleagues in Hollywood.
