New York City Mayor Eric Adams visited El Paso on Saturday to get a look at the Biden border crisis in Texas. The mayor claims that the arrival of illegal aliens arriving in NYC is putting the city at its breaking point. Welcome to the party, pal.

In some news reports, El Paso is being described as the epicenter of the Biden border crisis. That is not a true description of the situation. The epicenter of the Biden border crisis is the Rio Grande Valley. However, public officials like Mayor Adams don’t really want to go to the RGV, going to El Paso is an easier trip. The recent influx of illegal migrants that turned El Paso into a giant tent city is a crisis for the city, to be sure, but there is an ebb and flow developing there. The flood of migrants seems to be easing now. And, as we know, the city was able to clean up downtown El Paso for Joe Biden’s visit. He didn’t even see any migrants in the migrant center, we were told. Funny how that happened.

I guarantee you that if Joe Biden or any other Democrat elected official is interested in seeing what is happening on the ground in Texas, they would see plenty of illegal migrants in shelters and processing centers in border communities and the RGV. They prefer the sanitized version of the crisis. It’s easier to see and the media can continue to cover for Biden and his administration.

Adams is asking the Biden administration for more resources (money) to handle the situation he faces. He wants emergency aid from the State of New York and the federal government.

“Last week, we received 3000. One day, 800. The strain on our infrastructure is just immense,” Adams said. That marked the largest single-day arrival since the influx of migrants began.

Adams said that providing services to asylum seekers could cost the city between $1.5 billion to $2 billion.

“Based off our projections, we anticipate being unable to continue sheltering arriving asylum seekers on our own and have submitted an emergency mutual aid request to the State of New York beginning this weekend,” Adams said. “This type of request, reserved only for dire emergencies, asks the state for support to shelter arriving asylum seekers as the city faces an immediate need for additional capacity. Our initial request is for shelter to accommodate 500 asylum seekers, but, as New York City continues to see numbers balloon, this estimate will increase as well.”

The governor’s office also released a statement saying in part, “It will continue to work with the mayor and review his request,” but says, “the federal government must do more to help with the crisis.”

The governor wants to toss it to the federal government. Governor Abbott and other border governors have asked for emergency aid for two years, so good luck with that. Every state will soon realize it is a border state because of Biden’s border crisis.

According to a recent analysis by the Heritage Foundation, illegal aliens have been transported to 431 of the 435 U.S. congressional districts in the United States. The Biden administration likes to pretend it is only Governor Abbott sending busloads of migrants to sanctuary cities and states. However, NGOs and DHS send migrants all across the country, moving them away from the border to ease overcrowding and making space for more to come.

The study released by the think tank’s Oversight Project and Border Security and Immigration Center examined the role of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) located along the border and in border states. The data found that NGOs are responsible for facilitating the transport of thousands of migrants into the interior of the U.S.

Mike Howell, director of the Oversight Project and former DHS oversight counsel, described the operation as a “mass resettlement program in which the Biden administration works hand-in-hand with NGOs.”

Howell told Fox News that he was “shocked” at the findings of the investigation, accusing NGOs of exacerbating the border crisis by dispersing immigrants across U.S. communities.

“We were so shocked at that finding, we read multiple phases of this study, and we kept replicating the same finding,” he said Tuesday on “America Reports.” “Even in one instance where we geofenced a specific Catholic charity’s NGO, we found virtually every single congressional district had an illegal alien sent there – and this is just a couple of hundred illegal aliens that were at this location.”

“They play a huge role…the Biden administration would not be able to process this crisis without the help of NGOs. They are mission-critical to the border crisis,” he told Fox News host John Roberts.

Mayor Adams claims that providing services for asylum seekers will cost billions and the city’s budget for the next fiscal year doesn’t include city resources for them. That is despite housing thousands of illegal aliens last summer. The city is legally obligated to provide a bed for anyone in need of shelter.

An attorney for the Legal Aid Society said one solution is to allow asylum seekers to work. He suggests they be given work authorizations. That is a standard solution for the open borders crowd. Just allow them to stay and work. That’s how we get into these situations. If there are no consequences for breaking U.S. immigration laws, the migrants will continue to illegally cross into the country. They shouldn’t be allowed to take jobs from American citizens or legal residents.
