Someone at the DNC thought it would be a clever idea to link lyrics from a Beyonce song to trolling President Trump. The offer was for a free cell phone wallpaper download with the image of President Trump’s face underneath “Boy Bye” from Beyonce’s 2016 song “Sorry.” Democrats were not amused.
The pile-on from critics began after the tweet was posted Saturday and continued into the week. By Wednesday, even Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez chimed-in. The DNC’s tweet was so lame that AOC joked that someone didn’t go to her Twitter class.
Someone didn’t go to my Twitter class

AOC referred to a Twitter class she conducted for Democrat members of Congress back in January. She compulsively uses social media and the Democrats put her knowledge of getting messages out to the masses to good use. She taught interested Democrats how to use Twitter.
Ocasio-Cortez hosted a session for other Democratic lawmakers on effectively using social media in January with Rep. Jim Himes (D-Conn.) The session was “on the most effective ways to engage constituents on Twitter and the importance of digital storytelling,” USA Today reported. She has led the way among lawmakers for viral videos and livestreams to engage with voters.
Class was in session this morning! I was thrilled to offer some insights on Twitter and social media to my. colleagues this morning.
Now Majority @WhipClyburn is teaching me what all the bells mean in the Capitol 😂 https://t.co/pEGVZqqn2g

Of course the offer from the DNC was a way for the organization to sign up cell phone users for “periodic text messages from the DNC” when a supporter took them up on the offer. To Democrats, though, this silly attempt to troll Trump was proof that if the DNC can’t campaign against the president any better than this, then he’s bound to win re-election. Frankly, it’s hard to argue with that. Trump has been in office almost three years and the DNC still doesn’t get it.
Frustrated Democrats demanded that the DNC put out a better message. They didn’t particularly like that the DNC was wrapped up in feelings.
as Trump steers the Titanic into another iceberg the Democrats cling to a lifeboat debating which emoji will best describe their feelings https://t.co/bSkw4F8qJz

Mike Gravel, a little-known candidate for the 2020 nomination who didn’t qualify for a spot on the debate stage had an opinion, too.
good luck stopping the rise of fascism and white supremacy!

Peter Daou, a Clinton and Kerry adviser tweeted that he has little confidence in the DNC’s plan to defeat Trump.
To those who argue "Dem leaders have a secret plan" and "trust them, they're playing the long game," I submit the tweet below. https://t.co/FXfTzJcHjV

A Never Trumper and frequent talking head on anti-Trump cable news shows gave some advice to Democrats. He wants the DNC to “do better”. The guy who wants you to believe he is following “muh principles” in opposition to President Trump is cheerleading for a Democrat victory in 2020. How conservative.
Gosh it's a perfect message to reach the Obama-Trump switch voters who left you in 2016.
Oh. Wait.
Do better. https://t.co/LGhEX48AaK

There was plenty of grousing on Twitter by the liberal blue check crowd. After such a lame tweet, their reaction was understandable. No one thinks the DNC is cool and this attempt at being part of the cool kids crowd is proof of that. This stunt was right up there with Kirsten Gillibrand swilling shots in bars or her participation in playing beer pong. It’s all cringeworthy. The DNC is clueless and that’s good news for 2020, at least for people not voting for the eventual Democrat ticket. Keep up the good work, DNC.
