2020 presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is way more woke than 2016 presidential candidate Bernie Sanders. To prove it he’s hired a new deputy national press secretary who is an illegal alien. She’s covered under DACA protection but she won’t be eligible to vote for Sanders. How very 2019 is this? She has a history with Bernie, though.

The hiring of Belen Sisa, an Arizona leftist activist, was announced Wednesday evening. Sisa, who says she was brought to this country illegally from Argentina by her parents at age six, is currently protected from deportation under President Barack Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, program.

Despite her immigration status, Sisa has remained active in liberal politics over the years. In 2016, she worked as a page to the Arizona delegation at the Democratic National Convention and in Latino outreach for Sanders’ 2016 campaign.

Sisa defies the commonly used trope from the open borders crowd that illegal aliens live in the shadows of American society and are afraid to go about their daily lives. She boldly goes about her life and is a political activist to boot. She’s been arrested twice yet she’s still living her best life in America and now being rewarded for her civil disobedience with a high profile political job. God bless America.

She has been arrested at least twice for protests throughout her activist career. As a college senior in 2017, she was jailed for her role in a sit-in outside of Sen. Chuck Schumer’s, D-N.Y., office. While in jail, Sisa told reporters that she organized a “prison strike.”

Just weeks before that, she was arrested for a protest outside the Senate Hart Office Building. Both protests were over immigration reform and a demand that Congress pass the DREAM Act — a bill that would permanently legalize children who were brought into the country illegally — “cleanly,” without extraneous provisions.

It’s all about the DREAM Act and the potential Democrat vote in future elections. Her own mother speaks of her daughter’s braveness and about her DACA status. Her DACA exemption expires in one year, according to her mother. Democrats rewarded the young illegal alien with a delegate’s spot at the 2016 Democrat National Convention.

“She’s so brave,” her mother Isabel O’Neal told a local news station, according to Fox News. “DACA is expiring every day. Hers is going to expire in one year and what are we going to do with all of these youth? Congress has to pass the Dream Act.”

Sisa is a 25-year-old resident of Arizona. In 2016 she supported Sanders before Hillary Clinton won the primary nomination. She spoke about her activism to an Arizona newspaper.

“Even though I can’t vote, I can get 200 people to vote, and that matters,” Sisa said at the time, according to the Arizona Republic. “Everything can change depending on who becomes the next president. Our voice is starting to matter, and we can have an impact even though we can’t cast a ballot ourselves.”

Arizona was the only state to send an illegal alien (Sisa) as a delegate. The DNC used DREAMERS throughout the convention in speaking roles and as volunteers. DREAMers aren’t cowering in the shades. They are leading protests and marching to demand citizenship though they are in America illegally. It is the ultimate entitlement, deserved or not. By tugging on heartstrings this special class of people (thanks, Obama) intends to jump the line against those who spend years and a lot of money trying to gain residence in America legally. The arrogance is nauseating.
