Cocaine Mitch attacked in restaurant, owns unhinged patron

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and his wife, Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao, were having dinner in a Louisville restaurant Friday night when an unhinged woman began shouting “traitor” at the senator. She stopped and left, only to be replaced by an unhinged man who began shouting about social security. Naturally, all this was documented on video. The person filming it sold the footage to TMZ.

The male protester was more aggressive. It is reported that he slammed his fist on the table, then grabbed McConnell’s doggy bag and threw it into the street. What a guy. What I see on the video clip is restaurant patrons trying to get the guy to stop his loud rant and leave. It looks like a restaurant staffer finally approaches the man and asks him to leave.

Secretary Chao did as she always does – she confronted the protester. While McConnell keeps calm and cool, in this case just sitting there sipping his drink, she takes care of business. She’s a badass and I’m a fan. I understand McConnell offering a dignified response to the bad actors since he’s attacked solely because of his powerful position but his wife has no such self-imposed reservations. She lets it rip. She gets that Tiger Mom thing going as her response.

Remember when she and McConnell were attacked by a small but growing mob of college age punks while they left a private dinner on the Georgetown University campus back in June? McConnell just got into the awaiting SUV but Chao walked around to the other side of the vehicle and confronted the students as she did so. I wondered at the time why her security detail wasn’t more attentive but she handled it quite well.

McConnell was also attacked by a mob while walking through an airport and run out of two restaurants last summer.  All of this will continue and escalate as Election Day approaches. It’s to be expected given the violent rhetoric of the left and their political leaders. Republicans are to be protested every time they dare to go about a normal life, the left is told. The unhinged who walk among us take that as marching orders and carry out such behavior. My fear is that a Republican politician will be as badly injured as Rep. Steve Scalise or Senator Rand Paul as this continues. Let’s hope no one dies.

Every time a Republican behaves badly, usually with words, other Republican politicians are called upon to denounce the behavior. And, usually, they do just that. Democrats, however, aren’t held accountable for the violent rhetoric we now hear from Democrat leaders. The double standard in politics is alive and thriving. Most of the media is only too eager to play a part in #TheResistance.

Hillary Clinton, a former First Lady, U.S. Senator, and Secretary of State said that civil behavior cannot happen until Democrats are back in power. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, a former Speaker of the House, said there will be collateral damage to those who disagree with her. Rep. Maxine Waters said that Republicans must be mobbed and protested everywhere, whether it’s the supermarket or a gas station or a department store.  This is why we have screaming unhinged people in restaurants and airports.

I hope that Republican politicians will be able to hold firm and go about their lives in public. If these toxic protesters are given an inch, they’ll take a mile. I truly believe that if the mid-term election results don’t go their way in November, the streets of blue America will look like Chicago in 1968. We are teetering on the cusp of another American civil war.

President Trump’s current favorite motto is quite appropriate. Jobs not mobs. Vote accordingly.
