Stormy Daniels reveals sketch of the man who allegedly threatened her

Stormy Daniels (aka Stephanie Clifford) and her attorney Michael Avenatti appeared on The View Tuesday and released a sketch of the man Daniels claims threatened her back in 2011. This morning, Avenatti announced the plan to reveal the sketch on the show:

Here’s the sketch they released:

In the discussion on the View, Avenatti said this sketch was done by an artist named Lois Gibson who holds a world record for the most number of people identified based on her work. One of the show’s hosts mentioned that the person in the sketch looks like an actor and Daniels replied, “That’s why he stood out to me is because I thought honestly he was sort of handsome. When I saw him when I was parking I was like ‘Oh, that’s somebody’s husband, he’s sort of cute.'”

The threat, which allegedly took place in 2011, was first described by Daniels in an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper last month. “I was in a parking lot, going to a fitness class with my infant daughter,” Daniels said. She continued, “Taking, you know, the seats facing backwards in the backseat, diaper bag, you know, getting all the stuff out and a guy walked up on me and said to me, ‘Leave Trump alone. Forget the story.'” Daniels said the man then looked at her daughter and added, “A beautiful little girl. It would be a shame if something happened to her mom.” Here’s Daniels telling the story to Cooper:

Daniels didn’t report the incident to police. She was asked about that decision today on the View and offered three answers for why she didn’t do so at the time. First, she says she was scared. Second, she knew if she went to police she’d have to explain why someone would be threatening her to stay away from Donald Trump. Her answer would become part of a public police report and, at the time, she wasn’t sure she wanted people to know about the affair. Third, at the time she hadn’t told her husband about the affair with Trump, so involving the authorities would force her to reveal the story to her husband.

Politically, I think a lot of this is already baked into the cake, so to speak, for Trump. However, the threat adds another level of illegal behavior that could potentially result in criminal charges for someone. Now that this sketch is out there and appearing on the media all day, and now that Daniels’ attorney is offering a $100,000 reward for information, I would expect someone to talk.  Of course that all assumes the story is true.

Daniels is taking a risk here. If no one comes forward that doesn’t prove she’s lying but it certainly doesn’t help her credibility. Simply put, this is not a face that blends into a crowd. Someone ought to be able to recognize the identity of the man in the sketch. Here’s the reveal on the View:
