Biden Fails to Distinguish Ukraine From Gaza

Friday was another not-so-great day for the Commander-in-Chief as he struggled to deliver remarks to the press regarding food aid for Gaza. Joe Biden was hosting Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni for an official state visit in the Oval Office when his staff decided to throw caution to the wind and allow him to make some remarks to the press. Things seemed to go okay at first, but then Uncle Joe announced that he was authorizing airdrops of food and supplies "into Ukraine." He followed that up by saying he would be looking to "open other avenues into Ukraine." I'm sure the Ukrainians will be thrilled to hear it, but what Joe actually meant to say was "Gaza." But don't let that worry you. I'm sure everything is just fine. After all, his doctor said he passed his physical with flying colors, right? (NY Post)

President Biden mistakenly announced Friday that he was authorizing US airdrops of aid into “Ukraine” when he was supposed to say the Gaza Strip — another stumble propelling election-year scrutiny of his mental acuity.

The 81-year-old commander-in-chief mixed up the global hot spots twice while hosting Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in the Oval Office.

“In the coming days, we are going to join with our friends in Jordan and others in providing airdrops of additional food and supplies into Ukraine and seek to continue to open up other avenues into Ukraine, including the possibility of a marine corridor to deliver large amounts of humanitarian assistance,” Biden said.

Later in his remarks, he partially cleared things up by employing the phrase, "aid flowing to Gaza." When confused reporters requested some follow-up information afterward, spokesman John Kirby was sent out to handle the cleanup in aisle 1. He clarified that Biden “was referring to Gaza when he said Ukraine.” Thanks, John. That's as clear as mud now.

The tragic part of this episode can be seen if you look at the photos from the event. His handlers had once again given him a cue card with the words he was supposed to say and he wasn't even trying to hide it. And yet he was unable to read the words aloud correctly when the time came despite looking down and staring directly at the card.

It could be easy to try to write this off as "no big deal." Afer all, it's the sort of performance we've come to expect from Joe Biden at this point. As long as he didn't literally order somebody to load up a plane with supplies for Gaza and take them to Ukraine, there would have been no real harm done. Even if he gave the order, hopefully one of his handlers would have noticed and changed the itinerary before things got out of hand.

But that's not really the point. Our allies are watching all of this play out in real-time. Our adversaries are watching this and chuckling to themselves. All Biden was expected to do was read aloud from a card. It's something a 1st grader should be able to do with ease. Or at least they would have been able to before the public schools went woke and stopped worrying about things like reading and math. This guy has someone following him around at all times with the nuclear codes, for Pete's sake. He's still booking private conversations with other world leaders, just as he did yesterday. Who in the world knows what he's saying in those meetings and what impressions his guests are leaving with? Does he have an aide standing by during all such meetings to issue corrections on the fly if required?

Joe Biden is allegedly married to a doctor. Okay... she's not a medical doctor, but surely she knows a few of them. Shouldn't she be stepping in and saying that enough is enough? And what's up with Joe's presidential doctor who gave him a clean bill of health this week? That's simply malpractice in action. The world is on fire at the moment and we have a captain at the helm who is incapable of reading a compass. November can't get here soon enough.
