Caroline Downey at National Review brings us yet another horror story delivered by the progressive policymakers in Washington state. While still not codified in official policy, Washington previously began allowing male prisoners to request transfers to the state’s only exclusively women’s prison (the Washington Corrections Center for Women) if they claimed that they were transgender. This resulted in at least six recent cases of transfers, including defendants who had been convicted of sex crimes against female victims. With that information as a backdrop it’s difficult to see how this horrible headline was anything but inevitable. Present and former guards from the prison have told the media that these transferred prisoners have raped female inmates, including one inmate who had been convicted of sexually assaulting a minor female. That prisoner was found to have repeatedly sexually abused a developmentally disabled female prisoner for at least a week before being discovered.

In the state of Washington, convicted male felons who identify as women have been transferred to the Washington Corrections Center for Women, formerly the only women-only prison in the state, and have in some cases sexually exploited the female inmates residing there…

Prisoner Donna Perry, formerly known as Douglas Perry, was convicted of killing three sex workers. Before being charged, Perry reportedly traveled to Thailand to undergo gender-reassignment surgery. Prosecutors argued in court that Perry had the procedures done to avoid suspicion for the murders he committed.

Another inmate, Princess Zoee Marie Andromeda Love, formerly known as Hobby Bingham, was sentenced to jail time after he was found guilty of having sex with a twelve-year-old girl. After claiming to be a woman, Andromeda Love successfully secured a transfer to the women’s prison.

It was Hobby Bingham (now known as Princess Zoee Marie Andromeda Love) who was convicted of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl. After being transferred to Washington Corrections Center for Women, he was discovered naked in bed with a female prisoner who doctors described as having the mental development of a young child. The two had reportedly been cellmates for at least a week before being discovered.

Anyone who isn’t completely blinded by progressive insanity could have told them that this was the inevitable result of their transgender-friendly policies. If someone is capable of murdering multiple victims and/or sexually assaulting women and young girls, do you really think they would hesitate to pretend to be transgender if it meant getting sent to a women’s prison rather than the usual male facility where they themselves might become victims of gang violence on the inside? And with an entire population of potential sexual assault victims lined up for them with no avenue of escape, what did they think was going to happen next?

And it’s not as if the bar was set very high in “proving” their transgender status. Prisoners making these applications do not have to have undergone “corrective” surgery and they don’t even have to be on hormone therapy to lower their testosterone levels. They simply have to “avow” that they believe themselves to be female and convince some prison officials of their “sincerity” and they’re off to the races.

“Washington State Department of Corrections has established procedures to ensure equitable treatment of transgender, intersex, and/or gender non-conforming individuals when conducting intake screening and determining housing classification, programming, and supervision. If they identify as transgender, intersex, and/or gender non-conforming, they are evaluated appropriately per this policy,” the Washington department of corrections said in a statement to the Dori Monson Show.

There is no way to “test” anyone for gender dysphoria because it’s a mental illness, not a physical one. The only qualifying element is a “belief” that they are something that is medically impossible. And that means that anyone can lie about it if they choose to do so. Clearly, the Washington Department of Corrections has given male prisoners a powerful incentive to cook up just such a story. And in doing so, they have victimized the legitimately female inmates of their corrections facilities.

If they must insist on having these insane policies in place, there is at least one step they could take to improve the situation. Tell any male inmate claiming to be female that they can be granted a transfer, but only after they undergo surgery and have all of their male genitalia removed. That would at least minimize the amount of damage they can do on the inside. And most of the fakers would likely back away from their request anyway. That would be an irreversible and drastic measure to undertake just to get transferred to a women’s prison.
