Trump needs to watch out. Katniss Everdeen is coming for him.

We learned earlier this month that Hollywood would be forced to spend the next year without the services of Jennifer Lawrence, who might otherwise be referred to as “J-Law” here were I the sort of person to go around saying things like “J-Law.” She’s taking a break from making tens of millions of dollars to film movies where she plays a Russian prostitute/spy and focusing on fixing what’s wrong with America.

As part of that effort, she’s begun giving interviews to discuss her plans and reflect on the state of the union. One of these was just published in Vanity Fair, and the actress turned activist started out by saying a couple of things which briefly had me thinking that she was really much wiser than I’d assumed. For one thing, Lawrence began by saying that it was “disgusting” how Hillary Clinton and her team went after Trump supporters. She then told VF that actors really shouldn’t go around talking about politics. For one brief moment, I thought she might have reconsidered her hiatus and realized that diving into the swamp was a bad idea. But alas, it turns out she had a much more financially oriented reason for advising her fellow thespians to keep out of the political arena.(Fox News)

But the outspoken actress admitted that wading into politics is not the best path for celebrities to take. “I’ve always thought that it was a good idea to stay out of politics,” Lawrence told the magazine.

“Twenty-five percent of America identifies as liberal and I need more than 25 percent of America to go see my movies. It’s not wise, career-speaking, to talk about politics,” she said, but added that “When Donald Trump got sworn into office, that f—–g changed.”

So in other words, what you’re really worried about is losing three-quarters of your money. Hey… I can appreciate that as a capitalist. It’s a legitimate concern I’ve written about here before. But it looks like you’re going to bravely take one for the team and do it anyway, eh? Ah, well… so be it. What sort of sharp and pointed critiques should we be expecting? We might get a clue from this interview done last September.

Since Trump took office, she suggested the devastating hurricanes in Texas and Florida last year were signs of “Mother Nature’s rage and wrath” at the U.S. for electing Trump and not believing in man-made climate change.

“You know, you’re watching these hurricanes now, and it’s really hard, especially while promoting this movie, not to feel Mother Nature’s rage and wrath,” she said back in September.

At first I thought you were blaming Trump for the hurricanes, but that would be just silly, amirite? Now I see that you’re actually blaming God for the hurricanes because He’s really angry with President Trump and is trying to drown him in a storm, but He just has… really bad aim? Check. Got it.

This should be fun. Not being distracted by making yet another movie, Lawrence will have freed up all of her time to go around talking politics. And while she’s pretending to be part of an independent movement with no loyalty to either party, I think we can all see where this is going. I just hope her own prediction doesn’t come through and she winds up losing 75% of her income when she goes back to work. That would be terrible. I’ll be up all night worrying if she’s making enough to get by.
