Ed: I wrote about this earlier. The West has forgotten how to fight a war against a genocidal enemy. Israel can't afford that kind of amnesia any longer.

Some right-wing members of Netanyahu’s coalition are pushing for a takeover of the entire Gaza Strip—something the prime minister has avoided since the beginning of the war. The move would almost certainly result in the deaths of Israeli hostages and soldiers and heap further suffering on Palestinians in Gaza, say Israeli military experts. It would also potentially trigger a host of new legal obligations toward Palestinians if Israel were to be considered an occupying power.

“What’s going to happen is the conquest of Gaza from end to end,” said Moshe Saada, a lawmaker in Netanyahu’s right-wing Likud party on Monday. “We will distribute food, and obviously we’ll return our brothers and sisters.” ...

Israel has other options, including accepting concessions at the negotiating table or continuing a lower-intensity war against Hamas in an effort to wear the U.S.-designated terrorist group down. It could attempt risky hostage rescue operations. But the fact that some are now calling for a full takeover of Gaza is recognition that Israel’s current strategy isn’t working.

Ed: Israel's strategy would work a lot better if Western leaders didn't keep incentivizing Hamas to refuse to negotiate in good faith.

Ed: Again, the UK and France are incentivizing Israel into total destruction and capture of Gaza. Starmer and Macron haven't even bothered to condition their recognition on the release of hostages. It's insane, and it's sheer moral idiocy.

Jeffrey Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell agreed to participate in a congressional deposition only if a series of demands — including immunity — are met, according to a Tuesday letter from her attorneys. ...

A spokesperson for the House Oversight Committee told Axios the committee will respond to Maxwell's attorney soon, "but it will not consider granting congressional immunity for her testimony."

Ed: Told you so!  Comer's right to reject immunity, and hopefully, Trump won't consider a pardon or commutation either. Maxwell is a despicable figure, up to her eyeballs in trafficking underage girls for sex work. Immunity to go after Epstein MAY have been worth it (I'm skeptical it would have been needed), but she's the only one who can now be held accountable for the trafficking. Time to put aside the Epstein fascination and let Ghislaine rot.

Ed: Also: Dems wonder why their approval rating is below 20% these days. It's because they keep siding with the 20% on these radical issues.

“Nationally, there are a lot of Democrats who thought they were doing the right thing in pushing for independent redistricting and are now wondering: Did we get duped?” said Paul Mitchell, a Democratic political consultant and political data expert who has helped redistricting commissions in New York and other states.

“Democrats are trying to react, and either they’re doing it just in the nick of time or too late,” he added.

For New York’s bill to go into effect, the State Legislature would have to pass it twice, in consecutive legislative sessions, and then voters would have to approve it in a referendum. While Mr. Lasher and Mr. Gianaris would rather have the flexibility to redraw congressional lines in 2026, the earliest the lines could be redrawn would be 2028.

Ed: I doubt they could get it done even that quickly. After the 2030 election, the next census and reapportionment will probably cost New York a few House seats, as well as California, Illinois, and Massachusetts, among others. Even assuming New York Dems can pull this off, they'd just be rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

The only thing “Nazi” about this advertising campaign, in fact, is the woke leftists presuming to determine for everyone else what kinds of ads are permissible — under threat of career ruin.

The English language is vast and complex. But even it doesn’t have enough words for just how much I hate the legacy media and the twats that perform there.

Ed: Precisely. This is all about the rush to find some justification for envy and outrage. It comes across as desperate and absurd, which underscores the consensus that the mainstream media has no credibility at all any more. They are just narrative projectors for the neo-Marxist elite.

The global economy is surviving President Trump's trade wars with stronger-than-expected growth, the International Monetary Fund said in newly updated forecasts — even as a drag from fraying trade relations is likely to continue. ...

In its quarterly update of the World Economic Outlook, out Tuesday morning, the IMF says it expects the global economy to grow 3% this year, up 0.2 percentage point from its previous April forecast.

That still amounts to a slowdown from last year's 3.3% growth and remains "disappointingly below pre-COVID average," chief economist Pierre-Olivier Gourinchas told reporters Tuesday morning.

Ed: Unexpectedly! I notice that Axios still won't do what Bill Maher did this weekend, which is to admit that the hysteria over Trump's tariffs turned out to be baseless.

Ed: I wonder whether this is enough to get the DoJ and the Dept of Ed off UCLA's back. They have to hope that both are too busy with Harvard to go after a school that's already capitulating. However, the Trump administration has to be very interested in UCLA and especially its use of DEI in their medical school, where it has warped the curricula as well as the admissions process.

After an earlier intelligence assessment rejecting the narrative was effectively quashed, Brennan reportedly hand-picked the team to do a second rushed 2016 U.S. intelligence community assessment in the final days. We are now learning more about the person Brennan selected to head that team. Just the News and other outlets are revealing not just the extreme political bias of Susan Miller, but her remarkably poor handle on some key facts. The one unassailable fact that comes out of her postings is her declaration  that “[I] am not a Trump fan.”

A review of Miller’s social media postings reveals intense hostility toward Donald Trump and his supporters, including calling the President a “dictator” and MAGA supporters “Nazis.” What is particularly notable is that she still maintains that the widely ridiculed Steele Dossier, secretly funded by the Clinton campaign, “might be true.” Despite the findings of the Special Counsel and various investigations, she has insisted that Trump may indeed be a “Russian asset” or a “Kremlin asset.”

Ed: Better start brushing up on Susan Miller. It's a relatively new name to me, but she may be about to play an important role in exposing the Russia-collusion hoax conspiracy.
