Sunday morning talking heads

Since it’s been pretty much the entire focus of discussion over the past week (aside from CPAC), the Florida school shooting will be front and center this morning. Perhaps the premier entry on this topic will be Jake Tapper’s State of the Union on CNN. He was the host of the much discussed town hall this week which has seen heads exploding on both sides of the aisle. He’ll be welcoming Sheriff Scott Israel of Broward County, Florida. Did the Sheriff’s men cower behind their cars until a local cop rushed into the school unarmed? Perhaps we’ll get some answers. Also, the issue of whether or not CNN scripted the town hall will be up for debate.

Fox News Sunday is hitting the same topic, no doubt. They’ve got Gov. Rick Scott of Florida as well as Andrew Pollack, whose daughter was murdered in the school shooting. Also, high school senior Delaney Tarr.

Face the Nation on CBS has some players related to the larger story, plus a few other topics. They’ll have Gov. Asa Hutchinson of Arkansas, representatives Ted Deutch (D-Fla.) and Brian Mast (R-Fla.) as well as Austin Eubanks, who survived the shooting at Columbine. They’ll follow that up with Michele Gay, co-founder of the Bloomberg group Safe and Sound Schools. (Her daughter was killed at Sandy Hook.) They will be joined by Andy Parker, whose daughter was killed by a co-worker during a live news broadcast in 2015.

This Week on ABC has John Kasich and John Hickenlooper. Swinging back to the Florida shooting and the CNN town hall, they’ll have Dana Loesch, David Hogg and Ashley Kurtz, a student and a teacher from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

Meet the Press may be going in a slightly different direction, talking to Pat Toomey and Amy Klobuchar, along with Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky.

Expect this to be the War on the NRA edition of the Sunday talking heads for the most part.
