Is this an actual news report or the plot from a Larry Bond novel?

As the Daily Caller reports, there was an unofficial, unannounced meeting this week on the tarmac of the airport in Phoenix which, frankly, stinks to high heaven. Attorney General Loretta Lynch had a special visitor on her plane and it was none other than former President Bill Clinton. Are you kidding me?

The unannounced meeting, which comes as Lynch’s Justice Department is investigating the handling of classified information on Hillary Clinton’s private email server, came to light only when Phoenix’s ABC15 TV station asked Lynch about it during a press conference.

The Obama appointee told the TV station that she and Clinton did not discuss the investigation or any other government business. Instead, she says they talked about Clinton’s grandchildren and golf.

“I did see President Clinton at the Phoenix airport,” she told ABC15.

“As I was leaving and he spoke to myself and my husband on the plane. Our conversation was a great deal about his grandchildren. It was primarily social and about our travels. He mentioned the golf he played in Phoenix.”

It was “primarily” social? And I notice that he didn’t run into her in the terminal. The meeting was on her plane. How did this remarkable coincidence come about?

Lynch was in Arizona as part of a national tour to discuss law enforcement issues focusing on community relations and “de-escalating” encounters with suspects. (Read: Black Lives Matter.) Nothing too unusual about that.

And it’s not as if Bill never goes to Arizona for normal campaign reasons. Back in March he did a couple of stops there to promote his wife ahead of their primary. He also made sure to get in some time with Gabby Giffords in support of gun control. And to be fair, Hillary wants to perform well in Arizona where Democrats sense a possible advantage over Trump among a heavily Latino voter base. But the primary is over. So why was Bill Clinton in Arizona to begin with?

The American Mirror did a bit of checking and found that there were no publicly announced events scheduled. Bill met with John Gomez at a “Latino Leaders Roundtable.” John turns out to be the Deputy Chief of Staff for Steve Gallardo, a member of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors. Seriously? A county supervisor merits a meeting with the Big Dog?

But let’s just say that they both had reason to be in Phoenix at that particular airport on the same day and at roughly the same time. How does Clinton wind up on her plane? They don’t seem to share very much history together to the point where they’d go out of their way to hook up for a jog down memory lane. True, Clinton appointed her as U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York in 1999, so they might have met during that process though I don’t see any record of it on a quick search. But beyond that they seem to come from different social circles. I don’t see any history of her tied in to the Clinton Foundation either.

Even if we were to assume that the obvious reason wasn’t in play, what would possess the Attorney General to agree to such a private meeting? The man’s wife is currently under investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The optics alone should be enough to give any law enforcement official cold chills. Does she regularly get together to socialize with the spouses of the subjects of FBI investigations? And we’re supposed to believe that they spent a half hour talking about Chelsea’s kids and the subject of the investigation never came up?

C’mon, man.
