Dorian Johnson, American hero or something

Dorian Johnson has been arrested. Again.

For those of you who followed the events in Ferguson last summer at all closely, you’re probably familiar with the name. He was the accomplice of Michael Brown in the strongarm robbery of the convenience store just prior to the shooting and the only witness to the subsequent events aside from Officer Wilson. But lest you think he’s gone off into retirement since his fifteen minutes of fame expired, fear not. He’s apparently still keeping busy.

Dorian Johnson, the man who was with Michael Brown when Brown was fatally shot by a Ferguson police officer last summer, has been arrested on suspicion of drug charges and resisting arrest, a St. Louis police source said Wednesday.

Police released details of an incident involving three men taken into custody after officers were called to the 5700 block of Acme Avenue at 3:21 p.m. Wednesday by someone “reporting a large group of subjects who were possibly armed with firearms.”

The police report did not name Johnson, but a police source who spoke on the condition of anonymity said that the incident involved Johnson and two of his brothers. Johnson allegedly had a cough medication mixed with what police believe to be an illegal narcotic on him.

In case you missed it earlier this week, Johnson is also suing Officer Wilson, the Chief of Police and the city of Ferguson for excessive force, emotional trauma and who knows what all else. Say what you will about the guy, but he certainly gets around.

Keep in mind that this is the same person who was effectively turned into a network superstar for a few months by cable news outlets and mainstream news reporters desperate to fill their empty hours and find “facts” to support the narrative they were busy building. MSNBC’s Chris Hayes took Johnson for long walks in the park on film where he encouraged him to tell his story. You know… just to get all the facts out.

But remember one other thing as well. Dorian Johnson is a liar. I say this not as some general opinion based on hunches or speculation, but as a simple matter of record. The man is a lying liar. Well before the events with Michael Brown took place, Johnson had already been convicted of lying under oath to the authorities. And when the final Justice Department investigation was completed, the conclusions showed that Johnson went back into court, as well as in front of the broadcast cameras of everyone who would have him, and lied over and over and over again, attempting to set up Officer Wilson for a fall. And the press, much to their humiliation, continued to enable him through this entire process.

So what happened during this latest arrest? Were the police “retaliating against him” for his previous actions? I have no idea, but here’s a good starting point for you: whatever Dorian Johnson says about it… he’s probably lying.

For a walk down memory lane, here’s the Chris Hayes interview. Ah… good times, my friends.
