Looks like Newt is serious. He's meeting with The Donald

Some Doubting Thomas types kept insisting for a long time that Newt Gingrich wasn’t actually a serious candidate. He was in it for “vanity” reasons according to more than a few sources. (Though I’m still not entirely sure what this type of grueling odyssey does for one’s vanity.) Others implied he must be selling a book like so many other current candidates. But now those rumors can be laid to rest. Newt is passing the one, definitive test which proves he’s seriously running. He’s meeting with Donald Trump.

Donald Trump is scheduled to host Newt Gingrich at Trump Tower next Monday. The former House Speaker follows Romney, Perry, Cain and Bachmann in paying a visit to the New York businessman. A source familiar with his thinking tells Score that Trump wants to endorse a candidate during the primary season: “Mr. Trump looks forward to discussing issues and policy points with Speaker Gingrich.”

Oddly enough, Monday is Dec. 5th. What else happens on that date?

December 5th also happens to be the publication date for Trump’s new book “Time To Get Tough: Making America #1 Again.”

Fill in your own punch line.

Like it or not, Donald has built a niche for himself in the 2012 election process. Either he’s running for office himself, or meeting with aspiring candidates and eating pizza in dubious fashion. But no matter what, he keeps his name in the news. Then again, since he has yet to endorse anyone else, perhaps this is the last step in an endorsement for Newt? Just what the former Speaker needs to put him over the top, I’m sure.
