DSK: Rapist or misunderstood sex addict?

You Americans! You’re always so judgmental! Yes, it was very easy for you all to immediately jump on the story of Dominique Strauss-Kahn being a crazed, violent rapist. But did you ever pause to think of the other person’s side of the story? Did you even stop to consider that maybe the former head of the IMF could be the victim in all of this? Well, if he’s a sex addict, then you really can’t blame him, now can you? I’m sure you’re all feeling rather sheepish about now.

French politician and International Monetary Fund chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn, arrested in New York Saturday for attempted rape, has long trailed a reputation among France’s cognoscenti as an ardent womanizer.

But when does an outsized appetite for sex morph into something deviant or violent? When does serial seduction give way to sex addiction?

“These concepts must be treated with caution, because we are at the border between so-called normal and pathological behaviour,” said psychiatrist Jean-Claude Matysiak, head of the addiction unit at Villeneuve Saint-Georges hospital outside of Paris.

I’m sorry… did you really just say, “serial seduction?”

Well, now that we’ve cleared up that little misunderstanding, I’m sure you won’t be bothered by a quick tour of the horrid, deplorable, inhuman conditions under which DSK is being held.

The Upper East Side rejected him, and he quickly wore out his welcome downtown, but yesterday, Parisian pariah Dominique Strauss-Kahn finally landed a posh pad in TriBeCa.

The uber-luxury, $50,000-a-month townhouse at 153 Franklin St. — replete with a home theater, gym, spa, bar and rec rooms — is where the former head of the International Monetary Fund will sit out his house arrest as he awaits trial on charges he sexually assaulted and attempted to rape a Midtown hotel maid.

The 27-foot-wide space in one of New York’s trendiest neighborhoods has attracted A-list actors and athletes as possible tenants, including Cameron Diaz and Alex Rodriguez, who eyeballed it earlier this year.

With four bedrooms and five full baths, there will be plenty of living space for Strauss-Kahn.

Located on a cobblestone street between Varick and Hudson, the home was built in 1915 but recently renovated by noted architect and designer Leopoldo Rosati.
