The Republican governor was snubbed last year by the organizers of the conference, the American Conservative Union, because he was critical of the congressional GOP and didn’t have a conservative enough record that year, the ACU said. He had spoken at the annual confab the year before.

Christie and the ACU have apparently mended fences in the past year.

CPAC speakers are usually bright stars in the Republican Party, and a speaking slot can be a major profile boost for conservatives.
