While the first three rounds of “No Kings” rallies were organized to protest the Trump administration, No Kings 4.0 is largely focused on getting people to cast their ballots in the November midterm elections.
Thousands of No Kings rallies are taking place across the country this Saturday, Oct. 17, with dozens of “No Kings: Vote Early” events slated across Southern California.
Prior No Kings protests collectively drew millions of people to the streets.
“Once you have those large crowds, once you have people coming out consistently, it’s important that you move from just symbolic resistance to meaningful change created through these actions,” said Hunter Dunn, the national press coordinator for 50501, one of the grassroots organizations that helped create the No Kings coalition.
On Election Day, Republicans will try to hold onto a majority in Congress, while Democrats look to seize control of the House and the Senate for the two remaining years of President Donald Trump’s final term.
