Two Roads to the Same Communism

“Socialists” running on a communist agenda have taken control of the Democratic Party in New York City, and after the November election, they are poised to gain a critical mass of electoral power within the party nationally. Candidates for the Democratic Socialists of America (“DSA”) are now winning primaries against long-tenured Democrats in the heartland, too.

This is causing some consternation among less-radical Democrats who fear an electoral backlash among moderates and independents, but it is also a bit perplexing to those of us who have been battling climate communism for several decades. The climate agenda that sought to eliminate fossil fuels and reorganize society in a “sustainable” fashion was intellectually consistent with the efforts of “socialist” leaders such as Pol Pot and Mao Tse-Tung to radically reorient all aspects of human society. Their efforts resulted in tens of millions of deaths.

The good news is that there are a few voices in the Democratic Party repudiating its takeover by the DSA. Strategist James Carville is advocating for a schism in the party, stating that “there’s just some s*** that I can’t be in the same tent with.”  Thirteen Democrats running for Congress this fall released a “Promise to America” asserting that they support capitalism, not socialism. With 212 Democrats currently in the House, 13 is not a big number, but it is good to know that a few Democrats have finally realized there needs to be limits to the “No enemies on the left” philosophy that has driven their party so far to the fringe.
