This TikTok Reveals the Instinct We Tell Women to Ignore

I remember the first time I held each of my four babies after giving birth.

Each moment produced a rush of emotions − overwhelm, excitement and intense love.

I can't hold any of them on my lap anymore. They're all older; one is an adult. But a peek at their baby pictures can still recreate that same feeling. When I see their faces, I can still picture how they felt – even remember that newborn smell – almost 19 years ago.

That's why I smiled when I saw the TikTok post that's gone viral of a young woman holding a baby. "First time holding a baby and now she wants 8, probably my favourite video ever," the caption from an Australian creator reads.

"I don't even know why I'm crying," the woman says, cradling the newborn. "Oh my God, I need to have a kid. ... I want to take my top off and have skin-to-skin contact."
