A total of 92 high-profile criminals have been transferred from Mexico to the U.S. in recent months. The latest transfer of 32 was made Tuesday in a third-round according to Omar García Harfuch, the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection of the Government of Mexico.
Harfuch said some of the drug kingpins handed over to the U.S. are prominent figures such as Caro Quintero, the founder of Los Zetas, as well as heads of the CJNG and Sinaloa cartels.
He said with this collective transfer of drug traffickers, the total number of high-profile criminals sent to the U.S. is now 92.
The latest transfer was made days after U.S. President Donald Trump said President Claudia Sheinbaum was “afraid of the cartels that are controlling Mexico” and after Marco Rubio, Secretary of State, demanded “concrete and verifiable results” from Mexico.
