A massive great white shark was caught and released on the east side of Pensacola Beach, marking the fourth great white in four years reeled in by the crew with Coastal Worldwide.
Dylan Wier and Blaine Kenny with Coastal Worldwide helped a group reel in the estimated 1,000-pound, 12 to 13-foot shark during a 48-hour beach fishing trip.
“This trip, specifically was a 48 hour shark fishing trip from the beach. So these guys were here from noon to noon the next day to noon the following day, and yeah, in the first 12 hours or so of the trip, we hooked the first shark, which just happened to be a 12-13 foot great white shark,” Wier said.
The crew took just under an hour to reel in the apex predator. They photographed the shark and quickly released it back into the Gulf of Mexico.
