Vietnamese-American poet Ocean Vuong is offering to send copies of his book “On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous” to anyone in Conroe after he claims Conroe ISD banned the book from school libraries.

Sarah Blakelock, executive director of communications for Conroe ISD, said the book was not banned but rather removed from libraries in March 2023 due to low circulation.

The book is Vuong’s debut novel, published in June 2019.
