UPS Driver Shot and Killed In Irvine, CA

A UPS driver was shot and killed while sitting in his truck Thursday afternoon at an industrial park in Irvine, and the suspected gunman was arrested during a standoff, police said.

The incident unfolded around 3 p.m. near Chrysler and Bendix, according to the Irvine Police Department. Several people reported hearing multiple shots.

The male victim was found in the driver's seat of his truck. First responders pulled him out and tried to render aid but was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released.

Police say that area was a place where the UPS driver would normally take his breaks after making deliveries. His family told Eyewitness News that he was a father of two and previously served in the military.
